King Faolán laughed hastily as he was told what King Soloman had said. It was rather funny, hearing that someone so far away wished to force another nation to cede its homelands to them. Did this insane King actually expect it to happen? Even if it had, did he expect the people of Portugal to be happy about it, or to accept it peacefully? What a moron the King thought. Now the Israelites wanted war. Well, if it's war they want than they shall get a war. Faolán pulled on his royal cloak and left his palace for Pariliament.
Within minutes he had arrived. Parliament was already scheduled, so there was need to wake or go searching for any Lords. The King walked between the House of Commons and the House of Lords up to the podium. He looked into the eyes of the Parliament members, trying to estimate how they would react.
"Members of Parliament, it is with deep resolve that I must inform you that the Israelites wish to start a war against Portugal to further their empire. I believe it is the fault of Eire and her allies, for leaving Portugal so undefended against the aggresors of the south. I propose that we launch our are armies and navies to counter this aggression against Portugal and protect her lands."
"Your majesty, this is outrageous! How do you expect us to protect a nation that attacked our ally? They do not deserve the protection of Eire!" shouted a Lord
Count Vistro rose from his seat, "Though we have left Portugal weakened, they should be able to protect their lands. However, considering the vastness of our navy, I do not see any problem with sending a fleet to protect her shores."
"No, not with so few coins in our coffers"
"Why not just crush Israel, she is such a pathetic nation as it is?"
"Kill the Jews"
"Let us not get involved in another war, not when we just avoided another"
"But what about our honor?"
The Parliamentry hall broke into shouting and curses against Israel. It took some time before order was restored amongst the energetic representatives of Eire. The only decision made that day by Parliament was to ban the practice of Judaism, for they believed it corrupted those that believed in it with greed, aggression, and stupidity, as well as sending any believers of Judaism to work the mines in Greenland for the safety of Eire.
