Stopped working after patch???

I installed the patch on Friday and used the program offline Friday and Saturday--no problem. This morning, pressing Esc duriing the movie causes the program to stop completely with a Windows error. As a matter of fact I have not been able to get the offline to load at all, even after sitting through the entire movie, I get a Windows error. I went online and connected to Steam and was able to load the game, but when I went offline, the game again refused to load. Anyone have any ideas? I have a bandwidth limited Internet account and really don't want to be connected to Steam while I play.

I'm getting the windows error when I try to load a game that was saved pre-patch. Escaping through the movie isn't an issue, and I can start a fresh game without incident. I'm not playing offline though.

Please clear the cache: Delete everything in My Documents\My Games\Civ5\Cache, and then try it again.

I you have the Digital Deluxe version this is a know issue that should be fixed soon. If not, try what The_J suggested.
