My storage pit got burnt, and now I cannot rebuild it, in order to build the Monolith national wonder, since the city already has a granary. I saw this problem in some earlier thread here. Is there a way to work around it through the save file or something?

In BUG do you have the Hide Obsolete Buildings Option checked? If so, Uncheck it and you should be able to rebuild your storage pit. There is also the Hide Replaced (or something similar) it really should not be checked either.

That's a yucky workaround though. Surely the Monolith should have an OR prereq for granary...?

While I agree the Monolith should have an OR prereq, those 2 Options In BUG I Never use as there is Always a problem when you do because of missing prereqs all over the mod. I for one would rather see those Options removed. They invite Modding problems.

Maybe, but isn't the problem of mistakenly building obsolete buildings just as, if not bigger, problem?

No it's not one for me. And it's not a mistake for me either.

What happens if your low on hammers in a newer city and you can get a benefit from building the obsolete building, and get the benefit sooner, than having to have longer production time to get the newer bulding?

I see no sense in wasting an opportunity to quickly advance the city with an older/obsolete building that has an immediate impact then build the upgrade which would take much longer to build. When my hammer production and gold production increase then I upgrade.
