The commander watched from a distance as the last of the horsemen fell before the Shangian bows. It reminded him of 6 years earlier, when he was still a young soldier. They were overconfident after burning St. Petersburg, the city which bore the name of the Russian czar. They were closing in on Yaroslavl' when they saw Russian bowmen evacuating the city, exposing themselves in the open field. The Keshik brigade quickly broke away from the main attack force and followed the bowmen south, with another Keshik brigade approaching from the west. Surrounded and outnumbered, the Russians decided that their only hope was to dig in and defend to the last man.
The Keshiks from the west attacked first and expected a rollover, but because of a lack of coordination the Russians held their ground firmly and the mighty Keshiks were annihilated, only a few surviving the slaughter. The second attack, from the north, had a hard time as well, even though the Russians had been exhausted by the first attack and barely stood ground. In the end however, it were the Russians who came out victorious and had slaughtered thousands of Keshiks. Only one last brigade was left, moving towards Shangian lands.
And now, 6 years later, he was the last remaining Keshik. The mighty Keshiks, who had crushed Egypt and Mali, brought Russia to beg on its knees for peace, and established Mongolia's dominance on the continent, were no more.
The Great Khan had destroyed St. Petersburg and the Shangian stronghold, started the siege of Yaroslavl', cleared Mongolian waters of barbarian galleys, established contact with Persia and developed a new type of horseman, with iron armor, and more powerful, albeit slower than the ancient Keshik.
But he would always be remembered as the Khan who had caused the downfall of Mongolia's most respected and most powerful class.

Well, that's one less problem to worry about I guess
In my defence, every time my Keshik lost I had good to really good odds... Maybe CIV is mad at me for ignoring it for like 3 weeks
Positive news is the razing of St. Petersburg and Shangian. Yaroslavl' is under siege, although we will need to wait for Macemen to come up to beat the Longbowmen there (both of them have City Garrison II and the city is located on a hill). There is also a Maceman at Aryan, but he will need some support to take the city (also on a hill). Guilds has been researched, and the first Knights are being built in Mongolia.
Contact with the Persians has been established. As expected, they are also more powerful than us, but less powerful and advanced than India.
It's going to be very hard to achieve our conquest goal, but it can still be won. We are getting closer to India and Persia in terms of power, although we need to cross the sea to invade them, which will complicate things. Also, Russia is proving to be quite a tough opponent, although it is only a matter of wearing them down. This will take time however.
