Strategy doesn't work: AI never accepts GTP, even if it is only 1 GTP

well what may happen is when you trade a tech in the industrial ages and up, they usually will pay you big money in gpt (even if they dont have the gpt) and in cash now because the techs in the industrial ages and up are worth more and are very valuable.
What dozenlong said:
If the AI doesn't have excess GPT to trade, they will "never accept such a deal". Period.
If the AI offers you gpt, he has it. Allowing it to be the way you described it would be an enormous exploit allowing we humans to win simply by bankrupting the AI's.

but sometimes they do give us humongus gpt as shown it one of the sotd with "Rich France". one of my games they did give me about 200 gpt for refining, and they hardly have 200 gold to begin with.

Don't confuse gpt with gold in their treasury. A civ with 4 gold in its treasury might have 2000 gpt income. Nobody's ever shown evidence of the AI paying more gpt than it has.

This is true. The AI intuitively understands that saving gold is usually losing -- as the game goes on gold "loses" it's value, relative to what a single gold can accomplish, and there's little interest benefit (other than the 5% for the first 1000 when you get there) -- they are good at maximally utilizing their gold resources.

but i believe that in the programming, the ai seems to prioritize certain techs and they will do almost anything for certain techs. (like 200 gpt for refining and all their cash) come to think of this, the ai dosent seem to hurry production except for when they are in critical need, like when you are about to take their city that is undefended. so chances are in my game, they dont have the money and they desprately need it so they buy it for a high price.

It does value techs differently. Some techs are just more valuable than others (ones that give a new gov't for example). Somebody did an analysis of what value the AI's place on all the techs. I think it's in this form or the Strategy Articles.
Another factor that affects the value of a tech is how many civs have it. If you're the first to research a tech, you'll get more in trade than if only one or two other civs need it.

well, it seems that the ai prefers to research all of the techs eventhough it dosent have any value to them. for example, the ai always researches advanced flight but never builds paratroopers or helicopters. i think this because when i play they dont ever build paratroopers or helicopters
