Stronghold Crusader 2

Firefly Studios has released a new trailer for its castle defense simulation Stronghold Crusader 2.

The new trailer shows an eight-player online skirmish mode that allows competitors to play in teams or co-op. New AI player Saladin is also revealed as part of the two single-player campaigns set during the Crusades. The trailer shows castle design mechanics and some medieval dialog such as, "I will boil your kidneys."

The original Stronghold Crusader was published by 2K Games and God Games more than ten years ago, itself a follow-up to 2001's Stronghold. According to Firefly, the series has sold six million copies to date. Stronghold Crusader 2 is due for release on Windows PC this summer.

"It simply wouldn't be a Crusader game without a skirmish mode and the kind of replayability that offers," said a Firefly spokesperson. "This is what we intended to deliver from day one and it's fundamental to the game's design."

Where is MANICAL ?
Never heard of him.

and why hasnt he posted this already ?
Because:

Anyway please dont screw this up.

They probably will :(

Firefly has been going downhill for over a decade now. Stronghold was, and still is, their best game, followed by Crusader. They have been unable to release a new entry to the series since that hasn't been buggy, glitchy, and takes at least one (if not more) step(s) back for every step forward.

I don't know how they are still in business. Hopefully this reboot will be good, but I wouldn't pre-order (unless you are willing to fight for a refund) or hold my breath.

I HATE YOU !
They using the Stronghold 3 engine and game as the bases for Stronghold Crusader 2. I feel really really sick in my stomach right now and have to lie down for a while now.

Well it has been 2 years since Stronghold 3 so maybe they will have fixed the game engine by now ???

Q: How is the graphics engine different from Stronghold 2 or 3?
A: The Vision Engine is completely different from the Stronghold 2 engine, which we built ourselves. It's the one we used in Stronghold 3 but it has received a lot of optimisations to help it run better,

I don't expect much. Stronghold 3 is pretty bad. Even stronghold the original as good as it was had serious balance issues. All they had to do was give it a facelift and fix the unit balancing and they'd have a nice game.

10 whole new units and graphics update (which looks worse)
The bar isnt exactly high.

All we want is that they dont screw this up. like stronghold 3 with archers firing through walls and massive stone walls being made of wet paper mache as units using wooden spears cut through it within seconds.
