I recently changed my resolution then changed it back, but now for some odd reason, Conquests is not displaying the font properly.

ie:

This screenshot is at the original size and as you can tell, the font all rigid and is distorted somehow. In the diplomacy window, the font hangs over the designated area. My available resolutions are: 1280x800 ; 1024x768 ; 800x600. I've tried changing to all these different resolution and nothing changed. I even tired changing the color mode from 32 bit to 16 bit and vise versa and still nothing happened. Someone please help!

But it was there before and the game ran fine...strange. So, the gome does not need those files I am assuming.

It needs the lsans.fot file, you may need to copy that from your cd again. However, the .ini file will be recreated if it's not there. Everything will go back to the defaults, so you may need to make some changes to it.

So somehow the file was deleted...interesting...

UM, i checked, and the file has always been there...????

Well, I deleted those files then chose the repair option from the setup yet nothing happend, the font is still all screwed up. It's weird that the resolution of everything else is fine, it's just the font. Maybe this would help: inorder to click on a certain option, I would have to click either way beneath it or on top of the option for is to be selected. Please help!!!

But I'd have to uninstall first then, then install it.

BTW: 900th post!!!

Well, I finally got around to uninstalling both Civ original and conquests, then reinstalling both, and still problem persists. I read somewhere about font smoothing or something like that, does that relate to problem at all?

I don't know where to find it, I came across it when I was reading my manual...

Maybe it has something to do with the clone trooper? ;)

But move your saves and maps elsewhere then reinstall

Yeah, I've tried that already...

yeah reinstalling probably wont help since its saved somewhere in the registry. Try this.... when running civ in the background change your resolution again.. this should make the game adjust to the new resolution

no, didn't work either....

in the customization forum there is a few posts about using different fonts, in the files to download there is the backup of the original. How about trying that out?

I guess I can give it a go. It's weird though, the game was working fine, then the next minute this happens...
