Suggested Religion Splitting

Well my message was not targeted at one person. I just don't flat out care to the term to Shamanism and think of it as many religions instead of one. There should be no Shamanism. If there is one we might as well use Monotheism as a religion.

wocrapture-Shinto\Shinto\Amaterasu\Amaterasu Shaman

That is the path in that file if you cant find it. I made 3 missionaries one for each god because in Rapture you must have Shinto to found a religion to just one Shinto god like Amaterasu.

Anyway not talking bad about one person. Just tired of never making a realistic mod because we adept to stupid rules that Sid made. I do not believe in his stupid model. Now either I moan and groan, or better just ignore.

Looking into it further, Vodun is indeed a syncretic practice which blends Christianity with native animistic beliefs. Given that in mind, it probably makes more sense to give Voodoo an African culture of origin in game than to give it to a New World culture. Of course, the game lacks a reason why it would spread to Louisiana and the Caribbean, but that's a discussion for another time. As you can tell, i'm not particularly an expert either.

Hmm... I've always wanted to see more flavor for the Slavery civic, like C2P II (a game I loved as a sort of proto-C2C) with it's slave units. Would be particularily interesting if slave units could be settled with the consequence of bring their culture and possibly their religion with them.

Well.....I will just let you guys debate what you want. Like it matters what I think.:crazyeye:

The art is there. You can go through it even online since it is in a SVN. You can download the mod and browse the civlopedia if you want and see all of them.

Aka "pagan" is used because it was the only word I knew to call the religions that play differently, each have 3 "shamans" that were meant to do missionary jobs and more. They are under each god's folder. The reason for this is you start with I guess what you guys would call shamanism.

Each civ starts with a type of regional shamanism. The regional shamanism decides what shrines to the gods you can build. After you build a shrine (prereq the shaman religion) you get a religion from within that region to a particular god. The "shaman" missionary can spread this religion to groups that do not share your shaman religion background.

So a Shinto shaman can spread a shinto religion to romans, but the romans can not have the generic shinto religion just stuff from for example Amaterasu. I did this purposely to simulate how mithra for example spread to Rome from Persian and Indian religions.

None of these operate by normal spread mechanics so you can limit some spread madness. The beginning later religions spread in similar default values, but you need a prophet to found a denomination. There are no restrictions on who can have the later religions.

So these folders in rapture are split into these types. I did not make founding movies for every religion. I did make my own founding movie for Zoroastrianism, and I did have founding movies for each wonder for the denominations.

The art took me a lot of damn time, and I am tired of after all of this time that no one seems to know how to get it. It is there I have the descriptions as well. I actually went to the trouble of asking religious gurus on the religions as to what they thought would be appropriate for denominations. Anyway I am sure it could be improved, but it is a damn shame that modders can not seem to find the art even after I made it as simple as I could think of to get to.
