suggestion for resources

this is my 1st attempt at a new thread, so here's hoping i don't mess up to bad

I absolutely LOVE this mod. however, 1 tiny little thing that irks me is the resource display in the city screen, all the scrolling i have to do once i start getting into the game

Good lord there are a lot of resources.... :)

I was wondering if was at all possible to separate the resources into different groups, perhaps different columns, or better yet ... individual tabs!
You could place a couple of buttons next to the resource text that would allow you to look through the different resources types -

one button for strategic - iron, horses, etc...
one button for luxury - gems, gold, etc...
one button for trade goods - hats, shoes, etc...
and maybe one for misc.. and so on

Considering how MASSIVE this mod is this option may already be in there somewhere and i just cant find it, if so i apologize for wasting your time.

Thank for you time, and i cant wait for this mod to be ported to civ 5, the graphics combined with this mod will be epic!!!
 
What you ask is possible, in fact tabs have just been added to the resource part of the window in the beta. Naturally it will require some work to be done.

As to Civ V, I doubt it can be ported because of all the differences between IV and V.
 
Yeah I don't think its going to Civ5. In fact I don't even own Civ5 due to the bad reviews and disappointing demo. C2C was born out of the disappointment of Civ5. If things were different we probably would have made it for Civ5. Then again RoM and AND had so much already to work from. I am just glad there is still a Civ4 community interested in a mod like C2C even after Civ5 came out.
 
Civ5 DLL sourcecode has not been released by Firaxis, so DLL modding on Cv5 is not possible.

The problem is that they have not released the DLL source code so all you can mod in Civ5 is the XML and Python, which is massively inadequate for a mod like C2C.
 
Ever think about contacting the resource mod guys to work to mutual benefit?

I think C2C has the most resource momentum. It would be nice to inspire some more team-ups. Cross-pollination would create some great ideas.
Maybe someone of influence could drop some hints in Civ5 or other mods:)

I personally would like a Kangaroo resource. Something special for Australia since Deer or Furs seems weird.

Is there now a technical limit on the number of types of resources or has that issue been solved?

There is one major modern central/eastern European resource which has never been in the game as a map resource, but if there is room to include more it ought to be there (although not necessarily starting out in Central Europe) - sunflowers. Yes they are giant and not particularly pretty flowers, but nowadays they are a massive central/eastern european export and have been for years, (initially the seeds as a foodstuff, later sunflower oil for cooking, and in more recent years as an alternative to fossil fuels, you can run vehicles off the stuff if you adapt them for it). I would be thrilled to see a sunflower map resource (and "city vicinity" type buildings dependent upon it), in reality it's an important economic resource and export good (and one which has been important for a long time now) for large swathes of Central Europe. Yes the plant originates from North America, but today countries like Romania are full of sunflower fields - I do think it's an important resource and ought to be on the map somewhere.

How about eucalyptus (like prime lumber) - Gives +2 commerce +1 food (+1 health)

don't know why there are koala's in the game when they have no eucalyptus leaves to eat ;( poor guys.

what about a production bonus for cure of cancer with tea ? it lovers the cancer risk at 15 %
