SUL5a - Competing Succession Game Teams

archer_007 has also missed the 48-hour deadline to report his turn. I must say I'm pretty disappointed with both he and D-Tox; it shouldn't take much more than 5 turns to finish this game and win it, and they haven't shown any interest in doing so. Running this game has taken some serious effort on my part, and when players are missing deadlines left and right it tells me that they don't care about what happens. That hurts, no doubt about it. If you're familiar at all with what Sirian said recently about the RBE series, I'm feeling the same kind of emotions on a much smaller scale. Is it really that hard to play 10 turns in a full 2 day span? I expect at least some level of commitment from you when you sign up for this game.

Therefore, we are going to a new format. No posting "got it" messages anymore, the first person to play out this game to its conclusion and report will have the official turn. I doubt it will go past 10 turns anyway. So I will count the first person to post the victory with the official credit. This is not the way that I wanted to end the game, but if the rest of you aren't going to put forth the effort then neither will I. (This does not apply to Wetterlind or hotrod who have always made the deadlines and shown interest in the game.)

For the record I will play it tonight but if Wetterland or who ever finish before me so be it.

I know I apprieciate your help in moving the game along as well as Lee and Sirian before his sabatical. Too bad we never completed the Original and one of the most informative TDGs.

I am an anxious to see this game to the end.

Hotrod :)

I wanted to finish this one quickly so I might have declared war a bit too early.

1600AD

history will remember us as Elizabeth the Strong

1600AD, well done. :) Also note that even with losing two cities to the Aztecs (what's up with THAT, by the way? :smoke: ) we still reached domination in just 6 turns. Makes me wonder why D-Tox and archer_007 couldn't spare 15 minutes to finish out the game...

In any case, this game is now finished. (Please post the final save as soon as you can though Zarth, I'm sure others will want to download it.) You are now free to read the "B" game's thread, but NO posting in it. I will send Padma a message that we are finished and post a message in the organization thread; that is where discussion will take place when both teams are finished. The "B" team is WAAAY behind us in terms of dates despite the fact that they have more posts, so it may be a while before they finish. We will compare the games ONLY when they finish; as per the Realms Beyond Epics there will be no spoilers while their game continues.

Congratulations to everyone who played on this team. We've done the hard work, now it's time to watch the others and see what they can do. And... between you and me, I think that we're probably going to win this one! :goodjob: :hammer:

Yea-ha! We win! :D

Thanks a lot for the comments and the pointers Sullla!!! That was very much appreciated!

Although a bit slow in the end I did enjoy this immensely! And I did learn quite a bit. Thanks to all of you.

No spoilers, just bumping in case anyone wants to compare with team B (the tortoise to this game's hare, for sure!) :)

Zed, we are holding off discussion until the B team finishes. Anyone is welcome to read through this thread if desired, but please hold any and all comments until the other team finishes. You might want to write them down, because they still aren't very close to finishing... ;)
