Sunday's PAX talk (with summary of the info)

Officially we got our independence in 1867.
Really? Wow, am I off about that! I thought it was somewhere in the 30's

Edit:
Ah, I see there's independence and independence. One could even pick the year of 1982 I see :p
In 1867 the dominion of Canada became a self-governing body.
In 1931 Canada got legislative independence from Great Britain*.
In 1982(!) Canada got their own constitution.

Another day, another thing learned :)

* Apparently I was confused by this
[...] for Canada the Statute of Westminster [of 1931] has been called its declaration of independence.

yeah, LPs will be up ASAP after GaK launches. At least, there's going to be one showing all of the changes and maybe some commentary on what that means re: strategies.

As per 'harder' - that remains to be seen. Right now, deity is more about abuses rather than 'winning' vs. a competent foe (and really, if they give mass bonuses to a sub-par AI, then it deserves to be abused).

But we'll see if the AI gets to be more competent.

Well the great scientist abuse is still there Or did I miss something?

OH yeah I don't wanne know how much culture I will get when I capture ramses its capital if I have autocracy :p

I wonder why there's a DLC-button in the main menu?

The only thing I can think off is to turn DLC on or off for single player games, although I wonder why they didn't take the same approach as the multiplayer games and just added them in the game opions with checkboxes?

Seems easier to me it will save you're options epsecialy if am starting a game at mods

speeking of mods mods like infoaddict will they still be available for god's and king or will it have to be reworked?

Things will have to be reworked I'd imagine; but given the level of interest in the new game I shouldn't think that it will take very long for the creators to get to work making the alterations.

Even if changes don't need to be made, they will probably make them to account for the new mechanics.

I don't think those are pigs, but rather boars. Aside from the fact that they look like boars (with the hint of a mane), you don't need a Hunting Camp to catch pigs. :D

I was thinking with Goddess of the hunt (+1 food for camps) that it would only effect 3 resources - that being dear, fur and ivory. Boars would make a lot of sense when read in conjunction with this belief.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the title-screen guy is definitely Francis I. I not sure why they would include him, other than the fact that he would be a good choice in the Medieval scenario for a French leader.

It looks like they are really pushing the Medieval scenario.
Spoiler :

I could see them wanting someone for France closer to the Renaissance, so that makes sense. The problem is Maria Theresa and Catherine are a bit too modern to fit. I don't see them changing everyone just for a scenario.

I'd just like to point out that 2k announced they were visiting Firaxis today and doing more interviews which they were then posting on their website. They mention the visit 51 mins 45 seconds into the video. Sounds like we've more information to come soon :).

Yay, more info is great!!!:goodjob:

Maybe other civs took the ability? As I pointed out in the other thread, there should be at least 12 abilities, not 8.

Battering Ram?

That's true, it is civilian. So I would guess missionary or inquisitor.
