Civilizations in all future reiteration of the game should be different in all aspects of the game from each other.
For example, the benefits of city improvements vary from civilizations to civilizations. For some civs, a library may generate between 2 to 4 beakers. For other civs, it may generate 4 to 6.
For some civs, an archer may have 4 hit points. For other civs, archer may have 6 hit points.
For some civs, certain luxury resources may give more happiness than what is normal. For other civs, other luxury resources may grant more happiness.
Some civs may tend to be slower at science research, but faster at cultural points accumulation. Other civs may tend to have greater gold points accumulation, but their military units on average tend to have only the normal amount of hit points.
I think this will make a civ truely unique from each other. Right now, civs are unique only because they have unique abilities and units. I think they should be kept, but to make civs truely differentiated from each other, everything about the game from city improvement benefits, to land improvement yields to hammers/beakers/gold accumulation should be different from civ to civ. This will make the game more interesting.
