Tactics and strategy...follow the action

Agree with the holkan upgrade finally as Dan still hasn't seen anybody :)
Played my turn, discovering Babylon border (I hadn't seen it last time Munro :blush:)

edit: a warrior from Babylone needs 8 turns to hit Mali, 10 for Persia (so I will stick to my worker -> warrior -> SK build order for now :p)
 
OK Holkan upgrade seems better atm. However, natives (Dan) has already done 3 turns of gold and Donovan 0. We cannot afford 2 people running 0% as it is important to tech archery and AH ASAP to get imortals and skirmishers in a combined choke to attack and possibly kill babylon early, as it is very close.

So if Donovan goes 0% Dan must go 100%.

@ Ras..we need to check soldiers in demographics to see if there is any warriors build...I have not checked this turn, but last turn there were none.
You should scout babylon land with your scout and I will bring mine from the south. If there is a warrior build somewhere, be carefull with your scout (ie do not make second move next to city)

@ Munro...stonehedge is nice but eliminating an opponent early is much more valuable....lets see how it works out, but atm if I get horses, it seems that we have a shot at eliminating babylon...or at least it is worth taking a shot...the logic is skirmishers to choke and a stack of 5-6immortals to kill.

So do I go back to 100% if I don't see an enemy next turn? We just have to be clear on that as we we can't have 2 people flipping back and forth between 0 and 100%. Just too wasteful.

That Babylon location is really helpful for me as far as Bowmen are the biggest threat to dogs early. We clearly got the luck of the draw with civ placements.
 
Game reloaded, Munro and Donovan need to replay their turn. (exactly as they played it before).

I don't really follow what happened here. Indiansmoke - are you hosting this game? Any idea how many hours were left on the timer when you reloaded?

I logged in to replay my turn but it wouldn't let me move my scout (even though it shows 2 move remaining and was back in its original position). The timer showed 33 minutes remaining... Civstats seems almost as confused as I am, as it shows everyone as having played their turn... does it not cope well with team timer? Even with the reload, I'm not sure how we could have run out both our own timer and all but 33 minutes of the other team's 24 hour timer... in only 24 hours since I last played? :confused:

Not a big deal here but my scout is going to miss this turn due to the reload. If this happens later on in the game though it could be very significant of course. Anyone understand what happened here?

Edit: maybe someone logged in again with a Mod? Does enabling 'lock modified assets' prevent this problem?
 
OK, I switched to 0% research, but BW went to 4 turns. Could someone keep an eye on this to make sure that only one of us is at 0% by turns end?

Also, just to see if I am interpreting the turns correctly....do we get 24 hours to move our units, and then CP gets 24 hours?
 
Moved...found Rome. 11 Tiles from me. I moved scout and set tech to 100%, But did not end my turn yet. Since Donovan did not end turn yet either, I have left it open for discussion whether I should still go back to 100%.

Are we sure we don't want to have both Natives and Maya at 100% cash so we can have both upgrade their warriors? With both Rome and Egypt so close, isn't the super-early choke worth it?

The extra player at 0% science shouldn't delay BW etc by more than a turn. Isn't a super early Maya choke on Egypt going to hurt them more than it hurts us?
 
It might do Munro, but they might have copper don't forget, so it is a bigger gamble than with natives and it will delay us considerably if 2 players are at 0%.
So not sure...
