DESCRPTION

ENGLISH

A mod that adds the Tartessian Civ an Ancient civ of the south of the Iberian Peninsula.

Leader: Argantonio

Trait: Iberian Treasures
Gives +1 of gold and production per mine. Copper, Gold and Silver are produced twice as well

UB: Ataka
Replaces the Habor. The Ataka can be built with the technology Optics (Classic Era), Instead of Compass (Medieval Era). It also provides more gold when you establish trade routes with other players. With the Ataka the Sea Routes extend their scope

UU: Iberian Slinger
Replaces the composite bowman. The Iberian Slinger has more range strength, it costs less production, but it have less strenght

================================================================
ESPAÑOL

Este mod añade a la civilización tartessa, la primera de europa occidental, controlaban lo que ahora es el sur de España y el Algarve portugues

Habilidad Especial Tesoros Iberos

Tartessos? Nice. I'm glad someone got around to making this. I'll definitely have to try it out later. Why the Harbor replacement Unique Building? It seems Tartessos was more about receiving other people's trade routes rather than sending out its own, at least from the little I've read about it. Perhaps a Lighthouse replacement that boosts gold generated by incoming Trade Routes, like a mini-East India Company, would be better.

The tartessos had mines in the zone of sierra morena to extract mercury, lead, tin. They sold these metals to the phoenician and greek colonies
But the idea of the lighthouse is good

The colors look very similar to Russia...

Did the Tartessians had multiple cities?

The pre-Indo-European inhabitants of the Iberian peninsula are fascinating to me, though we understand little of their languages

Those Greek and Phoenician colonies were being set up in vicinity of Tartessos though. The Tartessians themselves weren't crossing the Mediterranean to do business in Greece and Phoenicia, so a trade-route extender doesn't make much sense as their Unique Building. I had another idea of what the Lighthouse replacement might do:

Unique Building: Ataka (Lighthouse) -- +1 :c5food: on Water Tiles; +1 additional :c5food: for Fish; +1 :c5gold: for Copper, Silver, Gold, and Iron.

Looks great! The only thing I could suggest is changing the icon to just the yellow and black colours so it fits in with the other civs stylistically.
It would be good, but someone knows how to make the relief of the icon with GIMP? I am not a GFX

The color of Spain and England or Assyria and Japan are more similar than Russsia and Tartessos. Why you would play with Tartessos and Russia at same time, now there are enought civilizations to play more historically.

Did the Tartessians had multiple cities?

Yes they had
There are known some cities from Tartessos such as Turta their capital, Mastia (later Qart Hadast and now Cartagena), Molybdan, which only we know the name, and Elibirge (now Elvira in Granada)

Also there have been found places with remains, houses, jewellery.

Those Greek and Phoenician colonies were being set up in vicinity of Tartessos though. You are right, they didn't go with a boat to sell their gold to Sidon, Aradus, Biblus, Tyre, Carthague, Athens ot Corinthos. They only carried the gold to Gadir, Malacca, Abdera or other colonies in the coast.
So I thought this

An Example with the trait + 1 gold per mine and the Mint, a gold mine will produce 1 :c5gold: TRAIT + 2 :c5gold: RESOURCE GOLD + 3 :c5gold: MINT + 1 :c5gold: YOUR BUILDING= 7 :c5gold: PER TOURN in the Classical Era

By the way I have read that the Tartessos did't speak anything similar to Iberian, Ataka is Harbor in Basque (As the unic pre-romanic and Iberian language). The myth tells that they are the descendents from Atlantis.

Also I had thought to put a unique building (Atlantis)
It will be like a National Wonder. It would produce + 1 :c5gold: , :c5science:, :c5production:, :c5food:, :c5culture: per :c5citizen: .Only could be built in the capital. It is a bit legendary, but there are natural wonders as the Dorado and the Fount of Youth, and the Rodas Colossus has a lot of controversy

great, i`ll test it now.

some games i cant build the observatory even if i have mountains.
is it a general bug or linked to this mod?

can u explain a bit better how the ataka is better than the harbor? how much more gold and how much range to trade routes?

having alot of fun with this civ :-)

The new icon looks nice! However if you want to go further and make one that looks exactly like the firaxis ones, Irkalla has a good tutorial (make for PS but GIMP can do everything in it).

The observatoy isn't linked with my mod, I don't know what can be happening to you

And the data of Ataka is:
+75 % to the range instead of 50 %
And the routes produce +50 % gold than the normal harbor

Thank you for the link

I just have read the guide and I made a test icon. What do you think?

new icon looks great.
i think u made them a bit too strong.
maybe u should drop the trade bonus or the double gold/silver/copper bonus. both of them are worth too much GPT :-)

I have thought of removing the bonus of +1 :c5gold: gold in mines. But leaving the +1:c5production: production
