Because it also unlocks useful economic techs? I've made these arguments before. I don't think Math is critical right now, I just think it will put us in a better position in the long term. And I am not opposed to researching IW, I just think we don't need it right now. I've also made those arguments before. Look I understand your point: you think IW is a better choice, I am just respectfully disagreeing with you.

To me, Math next is primarily because it gives a pre-req bonus to Currency. We might not need Math absolutely right now, but we'll want it soon enough that it's not worth skipping it and losing the pre-req bonus on Currency.

I think the option of Math->Currency->IW, particularly if Confucianism is gone, is worth reconsidering, given that it wasn't included in the poll. I don't personally see any use considering Math->IW->Currency though, it really just sounds like the worst of both worlds.

I guess I do have another salvo to throw out in support of a quicker IW. Would delaying currency for 5 turns be worse than delaying IW for 15+?

IW is totally worth it, 100%.
