Is the following possible? -

Tech (A) => Tech (B) / Tech (C) => Tech (D)

where Techs (A) and (D) are regular required techs and Techs (B) and (C) are Civ-specific and would exist in the same spot on the Tech Tree.

Similarly, is -

Tech (A) => Tech (B)

possible at the very beginning of a Tech Tree, where Tech (A) is Civ-specific (i.e., certain Civs would first research Tech (A) whereas others would first research Tech (B))?

Gracias,

Oz

Discussed this in another thread - can't find it now. Think of intertwining vines:

Conclusion - generally available can lead to civ-specific, but civ-specific can't lead to general. Similar civ-specific techs can even have different general prereqs - one way to ****** specific discoveries for certain civs.

Or you could make a duplicate of tech D, in the exact same place, requiring the civ-specific tech. If you set a tech as required for era advancement, but its prerequisite is unattainable for certain civs, the requirement is dropped for those civs that cannot research it.

Assuming that Tech (D) leads to Tech (E), would I not then also have to make a duplicate (E)?

Yes, and they could not give anything that you could only assign to one techs (like deforestation or wonders.)

That is the only problem, i didn't realize that that was what you were after.
