as far as i know its a melee weapon used for example by the red gaurds from palpatine when he is the emporer (thats what i tought it was tough ^.^)

I think it's the hyperlanes, safe and well known hyperspace routes throughout the Galaxy. Doesn't make much sense as a tech, should be terrain instead. I don't much care about that tech tree. Too many repetitive increments of one tech. The scale is too small.

For hyperlanes? You discover hyperdrive, start building ships and scout the safe routes through trial and error, I guess. So if it was a tech, hyperdrive would be the main if not the only pre-req.

Problem is, as far as I can see, there isn't really a tech tree in the private forum. The names of the techs here seem much better, in fact, than the ones in the private forum.
