Is it fair in a arcade game with 750 bucks on the line to in the last round of a game where basicly you have to press one button as fast as possible to pull out your cell phone to hit the buttons (because it's faster than fingers) ?

I was at game works today in the final 2 of our zip code tournment. At the end it was me from New Dublin (Dub)
agianst some fool from summerlin in ultimate track and field challenge on a 100 meter dash stage and I whiped out my cell phone and lit him up up (7 second 100 meter dash :mischief: :mischief: :mischief: ) we advanced but they were allowed to keep there entry fee ...so 10 of us were out 50 bucks each.
I am just glad that the technique has been ruled legal for next year.

Since when are cell phones interfacable with arcade games?

I would say its cheating so no its not fair

I"'m confused....I have no idea what you're talking about.
If you are playing in a game where the way to win is too press a button as fast as possible, is it okay to take out a cell phone and use it too hit the buttons insted of your fingers?

I'm guessing you let the vibrating phone take the place of your finger in button mashing, right?

Smart. Very smart. :goodjob:

And low down despicable.

What do you mean? Hit the buttons on the cell phone? How do you connect the phone to an arcade console???

No, he holds the cell phone in his hands, and uses his hands to hit the cell phone on the button, because thats faster.

Alltought i know its not ilegal, i still think its kinda low.

I think it's just stupid. He'll break the phone.

It's perfectly fair. Videogames are a mind-numbing activity, and intuitive problem solving is highly welcomed.

So ... what it using the vibrate function? That could have been cheating.

Nah I just used the blunt side and went too racking across the button
I do wonder if the viberate is strong enouf thou

As for the breaking the phone issue she's no razor :D ;) 3 years old actually no brick but still pretty big.

A pen is also good for mario party / no gamecube controller or pen damage, you would be suprised at how fast you can break records of mario using a hammer too beat man eating flowers to death. ;)

I wouldn't play a game (especially for money) in which the sole purpose is to press a single button as fast as possible.

Sure, why not? But I wouldn't play a game based completely on hitting a button over and over....

:king: it's 20 diff. games 1 player from each team, picks it and then the other team come up with there challenger.

I usually go with Tekken 5 but, there a guy there who I know did well in the evo
tournment http://www.evo2k.com/ ultimate track and field challenge is not that fun I'll admit but it gets the job done :goodjob:

Game skill should always be about talent, not mindlessly hitting buttons, strategy counts in this too though, apparently,so great :) But I have to say if you found something that worked, in games where real skill isn't an issue, then who can complain? Change the rules; the boys did well.

It's only cheating if the rules don't alow it. Exposing frailties can only lead to a fairer challenge. If you come back and win again after the fact, Kudos.

Brilliant!!!

Does any body remember that stuipid mini-game in Mortal Kombat 2 on the SNES where you had to break the stone or ruby or diamond or whatever by alternating two buttons? We found the best way was by doing it was by rubbing two knuckles over the respective buttons and holding the pad firmly with your left hand. Man was that an excercise in massochism.
