Tell me what you think...

Unless other units are two scale osama and his army need to be weaker.

I agree. We're still brainstorming concerning the information pertaining to Osama's stats and that of his immediate followers. Maybe he'll be a unit with infinite bombardment to represent al-Qaeda's global reach although he is an immoble unit with high defense. How would you incorporate him into a scenario?

I use that particular interface as a permanent part of my 'standard' civ'ing experience. I've replaced the vanilla interface pcx files after making back-up copies of each. The interface of this mod will feature various colors of Dragonskin Body Armor made by Pinnacle Armor at the following link:

Dragonskin Body Armor - (W2K7 - ID@ES Interface Camos)

Here are a couple more Diplomatic screens. Please note that Iran is preparing to proliferate nuclear weapons to Hezzbolah. Also, notice the Peace Process with Italy.

Here's a look at some Techs that will be available in the mod. I removed most of the text info from some entries and linked them in the Tech Tree in no particular fashion. The entire tree will be completely overhauled and updated with various new technologies. I'll post a screenie of the actual ['eras'] at a later time.

My question, when can I download it?

Looks awesome! :)

Right now, ansar, it's still a work in progress. But I'll keep the community updated and may released a biq (along with all the necessary files) to start the initial testing phase in the coming weeks. Thanks for the interest.

The following countries are my personal proposal for the 31 nations that should be included on the actual World Map. The list is as follows:

NORTH AMERICA (3)
America
Mexico (may be included with Latin America to make room for another state in South East Asia)
Canada (may be included with UK)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
EUROPE (8)
UK
Germany
France
Russia
Spain
Italy
Ukraine
Scandinavia
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
SOUTH AMERICA (5)
Argentina
Brazil
Venezuela
Peru
Cuba
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
EAST ASIA (5)
China
North Korea
South Korea
Japan
Taiwan
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
MIDDLE EAST (4)
Israel
Syria
Iran
Saudi Arabia
Turkey
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
OCEANIA (2)
Australia (may be included with UK)
Indonesia
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
AFRICA (2)
Libya - (North Africa)
Sudan - (Sub-Saharan Africa)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
CENTRAL ASIA (2)
Pakistan
India
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
SOUTH EAST ASIA (???)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or we can categorize each country by region and decide who should be included using this listing:

Sub-Saharan Africa

Caribbean & Latin America

East Asia & Australia

Central & South Asia

Middle East & North Africa

North America

South America

Europe

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who should be kept and who should be swept?

I would recommend keeping Australia as its own civ, including New Zealand. It would be good to keep Canada too, but if it had to go to make up space, surely it would make more sense to give it to the US than to Britain. I suppose that Malaysia can be put together with Indonesia (don't forget to give Singapore to China or Taiwan!), but you're going to need at least another civ to represent Thailand, Vietnam, and all those countries. If necessary you could always give Taiwan to China, which would be culturally appropriate even if not politically.

You really need more in Africa. I would remove Peru, at least, to free up some room here; you could also give South Korea to Japan if you had to. You should have at least South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria (which has 20% of the entire population of the continent) in addition to the ones you already have. Egypt would be good too, and Ethiopia if there were any spare slots left.

Thanks for your input Plotinus, Australia will definitely be kept as an important region-strategic nation combined with NZ. I just wanted to be re-assured. Also Peru was thrown in just to see how many people would want it removed. America will 'occupy' Iraq & Afghanistan so giving them Canada also will probably be overkill considering their overwhelming military power and the fact that they're seperated from the rest of the world's major powers by two oceans (Nukes not withstanding). Canada can somewhat act as a buffer (if such can be said) so I vouch to keep them also. Malaysia and Indonesia are combined already. I want to keep Taiwan as a separate entity allied with the US for its potential to spark a conflict with a rapidly rising superpower named China. Africa is one of the most resource-rich continents in the world so therefore I agree with you. I think it will be a good idea to place at least two Sub-Sahara African countries. South Korea and Japan will remain separate nations too, just in case nuclear-armed North Korea decide to initiate a war on the Korean peninsula. Therefore, two regional allies will respond to the crisis while the US responds with forces stationed in both nations. Lastly, Egypt is strategically important to the Mid-East equation. I recently updated information pertaining to the Egyptian military due to their involvement in a scenario based on W2K7 ID@ES. Perhaps they can act as a buffer that completes the encirclement of Israel by neighboring Arab countries. As for South East Asia, I will probably use Myanmar (Burma) because of its military dictatorship.

I think there should be a European Union..

The EU will be featured in one of the initial scenarios which will be released simultaneously with the modpack. They will definitely be a powerhouse!

Here is the premise:

Chinasia
European Union
Islamic Caliphate
ASEAN
NATO
African Union
South American bloc
Neutral Nations

The US is a decaying, former Superpower. America's greatly overextended military and almost successive various wars in the Middle East over two decades and its preoccupation with the Islamic world offered China a unique strategic opportunity. Shortly after its ascendancy to hyperpower status, Chinese militarism results in the annexation of almost all of mainland Asia as well as the capitulation of Taiwan. By allying itself with Muslim extremist a restored Pan-Islamic Caliphate is formed in the Middle East and swepts across North Africa. Afterwards, the rest of the world hurriedly forms military blocs to unify against Chinese and Islamic aggression.

Also, the After Iraq series is planned to be released by Kieran.

After Iraq: A Military Confontation With Iran

Plotinus, I spoke with Kieran via IM and together a decision was made with regards to your suggestions. As per your request (suggestion) Zimbabwe has been officially chosen to represent at least one of the Sub-Sahara African countries. Here is a screenshot to compliment the selection:

President Robert Mugabe - One Of The Top Ten: World's Worst Dictators

Current Rank: #4)

Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe. Age 81. In power since 1980.

Last Year’s Rank: #9)

Life in Zimbabwe has gone from bad to worse: It has the world’s highest inflation rate (called hyperinflation) and 80% unemployment. Life expectancy has declined since 1988 from 62 to 38 years. Farming has collapsed since 2000, when Mugabe began seizing white-owned farms, giving most of them to political allies with no background in agriculture. In 2005, Mugabe launched Operation Murambatsvina (Clean the Filth), the forcible eviction of some 700,000 people from their homes or businesses—“to restore order and sanity,” says the government. But locals say the real reason was to forestall demonstrations as the economy deteriorates.

Now, all that remains is to decide which other African nation(s) should be included...

1. Omar al-Bashir, Sudan. Age 61. In power since 1989. Last year’s rank: 7
2. Kim Jong Il, North Korea. Age 62. In power since 1994. Last year’s rank: 1
3. Than Shwe, Burma. Age 72. In power since 1992. Last year’s rank: 2

There you go, Plot :)

Glad to see Australia as its own civ :D

Looking forward to these projects :)
