Temple of Artemis?

@Flairin

Good work fella. I guess you would be what they call a wonder whore?

Most of the time I'm not a wonder whore, but in this game I was... almost always I skip each of those three wonders and instead focus on science rather than GE. I wanted at least 3 GE points early, and my second try (regenerated map) succeeded!! I stopped on turn 150 cause I was just curious if I could pull off getting a GE before the policy finisher (liberty) and GE from HS. I actually played about 50 turns longer than I set out for.

I chose Russia because it seemed best suited for the task. At least now I have a strategy if I want an earlier GE ...and Artemis seems well suited!!

My typical wonders are Hanging Gardens (often), Great Library (sometimes), HS (nearly always), Notre Dame (a must), Porcelain Tower (sometimes). Each of these I built with Russia in this game on top of what I already mentioned and several others. I had to put my extra workers to use chopping forests and building mines

I agree with conquering it instead of building it. I was trying out snarz's archery rush on Deity(and it actually kind of got it to work!...but I think I f'ed up the mid-game lol) and Greece built it by like turn 25, far earlier than a human player can possibly get it. His capital was right next to me though so I got it after all :lol:

turn 25 is possible with an insta-tech ruin, plus a worker chopping forests. I think I saw someone put up the GL between turn 25-30.

Also, if you have cattle off the bat you could grow your city in 5 turns, starve it down and gain an extra citizen which will always be there to work tiles. So once you reach 2 citizens again (in three turns since two citizens will be working tiles at 1 pop) you will have 3 citizens working tiles at 2 pop, which = extra production. I've had a 2 pop capital with 12 hammers this way super early.

It was probably even earlier than 25 honestly, I was just throwing an estimate out there. :P I just know he had ToA and Great Lighthouse in Athens by the time I attacked on turn 36. But I can see how turn 25 could be possible with that. The question is if it's worth the risk of blowing your early game like that I guess.
