Term 3 - Director of Infrastructure

Good luck Ginger_Ale and congrats!

Go Orioles!

My city of Spichester builds a worker on turn 1. Have it (and the successive worker) build a road 1W of the city, then 1 and 2 SW of that tile such that the road finishes on the horse.

Instructions for 90 BC

6 Slaves by Auchtermuchty and Delhi: Finish mining the current tile, then mine the tile N of the current position, and then move to the tile 2NE of Auchter and road it, to build a road in our lands to Ela Springs.

3 Workers by Ela Springs: Finish mining the current tile, and then chop forest W, SW and then SSW of Ela Springs for a total of 30 shields.

3 Workers and 1 Slave by New London: Irrigate and road the plains E and NE of New London, and then mine and road the grassland NW of New London.

2 Slaves and 1 Worker in the desert: Irrigate and road the floodplain wheat by Chaos, and mine and road the gold hill.

2 Slaves by Regentham: Road the current tile, then chop the forest SW of Regentham. Then, irrigate the tile WSW of Regentham and bring the irrigation to the plains SW (where we just chopped the tree).

Worker(s) built in Spichester: Road the tiles W, WSW of Spichester and the horse tile to get Spichester hooked up to the trade network. Then mine the BG 2NW of Sebdoh.

Worker by Oxford: Finish mining the current tile, then road it, and then move onto the 2 plains forests N and NW and chop them and irrigate the wines by irrigating the tile N of the wines.

Slaves by The Black Hole: Finish mining the current tiles then irrigate the tobacco WSW of Sebadoh and road it.

Any new workers: DP's discretion. Keep them out of harms way.

Ulyaoth or anyone else: any comments?

Director!

Greetings and good luck on your new job!

Now that you are asking for comments: our soldiers have weary feet and I would like to request road construction between Regentham and Holwerd, and between Regentham and Oxford. In both cases one road section would be needed. This will allow speedy movement along our east border.

EDIT: per the governor's instructions, Regentham and Holwerd will produce workers...

50 AD's Turnchat Instructions for the Director of Infrastructure

2 Workers in Dutch Territory by Camelot: Move 1 south, and mine and road that tile so Camelot can work that instead of a mountain tile.

3 Slaves in Dutch Territory by Provolutia: Move to the grasslands N and then NE and mine and road those.

6 Slaves by Ela Springs: Mine current tile, then mine and road tile NW of New London.

3 Workers by Ela Springs: Mine and road current tile, then irrigate and road horse tile (assuming we have control of Breda by then).

3 Workers and 1 Slave by New London: Chop, mine, and road tile 2S of current position.

Slave by New London: Road current tile then mine.

Worker and 2 Slaves by Husborne Crawley: Mine iron and road it, then mine hill N of Husborne.

Worker by Spichester and any new ones: Finish the current road, the mine tile E of Spichester and then road and mine cattle.

Slaves and Workers by Oxford / Regentham: Finish chopping current tiles, than move onto tile 2SW of Regentham and chop that then irrigate surrounding tiles.

Slave by Striders Haven: Finish roading current tile, then move north and irrigate it.

Slaves by previous Arnhem: Get them out of harms way and roading/mining hills by Chaos and Husborne.

Any new workers: DP's discretion, don't let the enemy snag any.

Graphs

I found myself with some extra time so I was looking at previous saves and making some graphs based on previous saves' data and our workers. Here's what I came up with:

Term3_DoI_tcit2_graph1.jpg

Bare = nothing, Unimproved = no irrigation/mining. As you can tell, bare tiles aren't very common, only 9.1% of the tiles we are working. About a third of the tiles we work, 33.8% are unimproved, and the rest of them are mined (40.3%) or irrigated (16.9%).

Term3_DoI_tcit2_graph2.jpg

An important factor you can tell from this graph is we have never had more cities than worker power, which I think is very vital to our success. Right now our worker to city ratio is 21.5 to 16, or 1.34.

My goals for this term: Have a bare tile worked % of under 5%, and have an unimproved tile % of under 15%. I think these goals are very manageable. I also want our worker power to city ratio to be 1.5 or greater. This is a challenging task as our nation's size grows, but I think we can get there. :goodjob:

GA,

I would like to request some road building crews:
- one to build a road from Strider to Kolhapur. First section could be built before the war, the second section is now in India, but your workers could follow the troops as they go in. After this, I would like them to build a road to Bengal.
- another one to build a road from Strider to Hyderabad and Jaipur. For safety reasons this should start after we begin the assault on Middelburg.

Btw, nice charts! I am glad to say our city count is now going up again. Also the slaves count should have risen :D

Director of Infrastructure's Instructions for 230 AD

2 Workers by Provolutia: Irrigate and road current tile, then mine mountain on river SE of Roosting Tree.

3 Workers by Warm'ogh: Finish mining current tile, then move SE and chop that forest and mine and road that tile, then move the forest 2SW of current position and do the same.

6 Slaves by Warm'ogh: Finish mining, then chop, mine, and road forest SE of Warm'ogh.

2 Slaves by New London: Mine current tile.

3 Workers by Ela Springs: Move W and chop, mine, then road forest and then road and irrigate horses.

1 Slave by Nijmegen: Road, then mine.

4 Slaves and 1 Worker by Husborne Crawley: Finish roading tile, then irrigate FP SSW of HC, and mine hill W of Black Hole.

2 Slaves and 2 Workers by Husborne Crawley: Road tile, then irrigate, then move SE and irrigate and road wines.

3 Slaves by Black Hole: Move SE, and mine and road current tile, then chop forest 2SE of Black Hole.

3 Slaves and Worker by Regentham: Irrigate then road, then move NE and irrigate that tile and the tile S of Regentham.

Worker by Spichester: Finish roading current tile, then mov the the forest NE of Spichester and chop, mine, and road it.

Slave by Striders Haven: Finish irrigating, then move south and irrigate.

4 Slaves in Chaos: Irrigate floodplain to the W of Chaos, then mine and road gold hill 2SW of Chaos.

Any other workers built or captured: DP's discretion. Keep them out of harm's way.

@zyxy: Right now, that would put our workers too close to Dutch spearmen for comfort.

Requests for Spichester:

1 - Let no other city touch its' tiles!
2 - Once we get a non-despotic government, and can plant forests, make Spichester a little hamlet. That is, mine bonus grassland, and irragate Spichester in such a way that it can be at size 12, and have the most spt output with planted forests. (2 forests per each irragated tile, and 2 more for the final 2 excess fpt).

If you think you'll get an aqueduct out of me for that little plan.... What's in it for me? :D

There's hunting grounds in the forest to the north of the city. All the game you want!

If we switch to Republic = saves 4 gpt in unit support OR allows 2 more units.

Also allows us to earn more commerce...I'll calculate your spt for the city Chieftess by next turnchat. Instructions will most likely go up Friday night.

GA & CT,

Good thinking about the size 7 cities! Maybe it's best to bring cities on fresh water up to size 7 first?

GA,

I would like to have road building crews for connections to Hyderabad and Kolhapur (and beyond). They can follow behind our armies (and hence would be quite safe), and hence they're not needed right from the start. I would guess after 5 turns or so. Crews of 3 slaves each would do nicely. Please consider.

zyxy,

Are we planning to take out the Indians within the next 10 turns / next turnchat? If so, please post an approximate turn #, so I know whether or not I can sneak in a road or two elsewhere. I would try to make crews of 6 for 1 turn roads, or 3 for 2 turn, indeed.

Director of Infrastructure's Instructions for 280 AD

2 Workers by Provolutia: Move NE and mine and road BG, then move to BG 2NW of Sebadoh and mine it.

2 Slaves by Camelot: Finish roading the tile, then road tile SW of current tile IF we are not at war with the Indians. After the Indian war, road to Karachi.

6 Slaves by Warm'ogh: Mine tile, then chop forest S of Warm'ogh and mine and road it.

3 Workers by Warm'ogh: Irrigate current tile, then move SW and chop forest and irrigate the tile.

2 Slaves by New London: Finish mining, then move onto the hill SW.

3 Workers by Ela Springs: Finish mining then move onto the horses and road and irrigate them, then road to Nijmegen.

Slave SE of Nijmegen: Finish roading, then move NE and road that.

Slave NW of Nijmegen: Finish roading, then move SW and road that, and road to Bangalore after the Indian war.

4 Slaves on Gold Hill by Chaos: Finish roading, then mine, then irrigate and road FP in the SE.

2 Slaves by Middelburg: Build a road 2S of Hyderabad, and then 3S of Hyderabad, and road and irrigate the horses by Striders Haven.

Dutch Slave by Stiders Haven: Finish irrigating, then chop forest SSW of Striders Haven.

Worker and 3 Slaves by Regentham: Finish irrigating, then irrigate the tiles S and SW of current tile.

2 Workers and 2 Slaves by Oxford: Road and irrigate tile, then move to the forest 2SE of The Black Hole, and chop, mine, and road it.

3 Slaves by The Black Hole: Finish mining, then mine BG 2NW of Sebadoh.

4 Slaves and 1 Worker by Husborne Crawley: Finishing irrigating, then move S and mine and road hill.

Worker by Spichester: Chop and mine / road forest.

I have a request for Spichester - spare the forests that are there now. Bring irragation into the city so that it can grow to size 6, then 12 quickly. With any excess food, plant forests so that it can use the 2 shields from those forests. Don't chop them down just yet, they're needed to build improvements quicker. One's already been chopped down. :(

Once you finish the temple (is it finished yet? I haven't checked;), I will plant some more. I wanted the temple so you could work more grasses and the cattle.
