Term 8 - Governor's Council

Yep, there are 11 workers in 2 road crews of 4, 2 on jungle duty at Toot, and 1 farming the hell out of FI. Roads are still a priority, at least the major links are... Sigma had a good plan, but I personally thought there might have too many.... anyway, not my position. How are the roads coming along, George? Perhaps the interior road crew could be split up into 2, making 6 on roads, 5 on city duty. Just an idea.

Toot: We should pillage that cottage.. good idea. I'll ask Sow. If Toot could have a farm and another grass mine next to the one thats there, that'd be great. Otherwise nothing can be done til CS.

Auda City: I don't know what I was on when I wrote that last one... it has enough food, but low prodn. It is capable of a fair income, but can't buil any improvements to benefit from it! The plan is to workshop the 3 plains tiles, so we can get courthouse, market, etc in, and cottage the other grass (leave forest for now).

Bascilica is on the frontline, so I'd just like to get the two mines in first. We can cottage spam later.

Abydos: You will need 4 farms for growth to 20, but you don't need them right now, due to the unhappiness - maybe a colloseum in the near future? However, you could replace those river jungles with farms, and use some higher :hammers: tiles than forests. The other two farms could replace the forests later... or whatever. You have a lot of choice here.

Old Sarai: I have one(???) word for you. Watermill. I've never looked that closely, but what a great site. I'm not sure why those 2 cottages are there, really, but I will probably check Rob's old plan later.

Const Falls: Looking good for now, but you will need 4 farms in total to work 20 tiles... well it depends on the improvements.

The roads look really good now thanks to Sigma. Here are my plans for the workers:
Alpha-I'll keep this one to work on more roads
Bravo-given to New Port City
Charlie-given to Const. Falls
Delta-given to Abydos
Echo-given to Fort Impervious
Foxtrot-given to Old Sarai
Golf-given to Basillica
Hotel-given to Auda City
India-given to Toot Uncommon
Juliet-given to Toot Uncommon
Kilo-I'm keeping for roads and sending to Basillica
Please don't forget to use your workers to improve your cities in your TC orders.

Also, if for any reason you need more help or don't need your worker, let me know. I'll send help or give them to another governor.

Thanks George. When is the next TC (or therest of this one) anyway? And are you or Oldbus doing it? There's the issue of NPC and FI... until the states are realigned. Well, it's part of a bigger issue, I guess. Which cities should be on commerce, and which on prod'n?

Thoughts (assuming we are gearing up for war):
BW - holding up the economy, as always
Bascilica - walls, just in case, has a barracks, so will get back to units.
Toot - barracks, then units
Auda - needs a courthouse, but will go back to it's cottages, etc, so will be slow. I guess it can wait for the workshops to get to any real production.
FI - doing it's farm/ GP thing
NPC - doesn't have much prod'n, should be working all possible cottages, imo (up to the dp, tho, I guess)
MG - well...
Red dot - enough said.

So we have BW, Auda, and hopefully NPC providing commerce (not enough, imho). What about your 3, ilr? They're all kind of hybrids, I guess, which is fine, but they need to have the extra tiles of each type prepared so that they can switch modes successfully. I don't want to step on your toes here, these're just suggestions...
Maybe get another 2 mines and a farm into OS so it can grow quicker up to 6 and really crank them out. Const is kind of stuck half way also, but it is so close to the front, it could use a couple more mines also when it comes to cruch time.

Anyway, the point: what if we team the workers to make more of a direct impact? You need 2 for roads, George, then:
FI - 1
OS - 1
Const Falls- 2
Auda - 1
Toot - 2
Bascilica - 2
or something like that.

Sweet...I'd love to get rid of those cottages in Old Sarai. however they pay for our mainteance. Check out the plan, I would appreciate the input. I was shooting for a production city that isnt a bind on our economy

I wont be worrying about that seeing as they will become apart of your state soon

I suspect it'll be me that does the next turnchat. However, I'm going to wait for some discussion on the Great Scientist.

Regarding the road building guards - I'm presuming you'd still like to keep them in order to do works near the border?

Yep, you're right, Red Dot certainly needs one. It's all too complicated... just tell me how many I get when the time comes, George. :)

Two matters to bring to your attention:

In the thread about National Wonders, it has been mentioned that we need more courthouses and libraries in order to complete several Epic projects. I think every city should have a courthouse at some point, and most should get a library.

Oldbus is the next DP, and he believes the next TC will be Sunday evening British time. It looks like he's only going to be able to create the TCIT about 30 hours beforehand. He said that if anyone doesn't post, he will look at the last TCIT. So as a backup plan, I suggest all governors post or edit their post in the last TCIT now. Please remember that I have also assigned most of the workers to your cities.

You're right, every city with maintenence 5+ should have courthouses, if not all, and libararies in all but OS and Toot, which seem to be labelled for production. We sort of lost the courthouse drive with the war, but this should still be a priority.

One thng about workers, I'm not sure NPC needs one at the moment, so it might be more productive somewhere else.

Sweet's right. NPC really doesn't need any more work. I'll give Bravo to Red Dot City. I'll give Juliet back to TU, that city needs help clearing out Jungle for now.

If I gave a worker to a city, the governor should post instructions for that worker. You can use it however you see fit. If it goes somewhere else in your State to help out, I won't care. It just gives me less work to do. :p

Good point. Bravo actually goes to Vind2, with the hope that he uses it for Red Dot.

Really, nobody can give instructions for ungoverned cities. That's why we need to get that State modification going and consolodate government.

OK, so we are down to 2 states and the capital, I think I'll just call them NL and SL for simplicity. Have I got SL, ilr18 NL, and Vind2 BW?

Looking back (it's been so long I've forgotten) we have
Workers -
A, K for George
B, D, H for NL
C, E, F, G, I, J for SL

We need to get a few cities doing commerce
SL - NPC and CF on science, FI is GP farm, OS and Toot prod'n, Basc is cactus
NL - Abydos science, Auda gold (doesn't seem to have enough prod'n for all the science buildings), Reddot possible naval prod'n, MG?? science??
BW - everything, as usual.

NPC should've been in NL, I think.. but that wasn't in the poll.

For SL, workers will regen Basc for commerce, fix mines for Toot and OS, cottage Const Falls, and farm FI.

Any thoughts?

Dear Governors,

It appears that people would like to wait a while before deciding whether or not to attack Germany. However, I don't think we should abandon building units (last time we did that, after the Mongol war, we got invaded).

I request that any military units currently being built are finished. After that, I hope you consider balancing military needs with those of the economy and the needs of your cities.

It appears we will get Civil Service soon via a trade, so I would request the following in priority order (from the highest):

mace x2
sword
cat
spear
axe
mace
