Test pitboss

Righto, will do so in future. Thanks for getting it up again promptly. :)

By the way, I'm going home to visit the family over Easter, and may not be able to log in over the long weekend as a result. I presume some other people are planning on doing something or going somewhere over the Easter weekend too? If so, maybe we should take a temporary break on Thursday and restart on Monday or Tuesday. Or we could pause over that period, or whatever. Thoughts?

If it's just me though, I won't hold the rest of you up. I guess I'll do my best to log in, but I might have to automate moves. Just figured I'd check in case other people are in similar situations. :)

I'll have access over Easter weekend, and can keep going, but wouldn't mind a break if we're going to be missing people.

I'm flexible. Just extend the turn timer out to 72 hours on thursday night and that gives people access if they get a chance to minimise the length of the delay.

I'll be at home during the weekend. I like champinoman's suggestion to extend the timer so we can continue if possible rather than an outright pause.

The extended timer is a good idea. Personally I'd prefer 72 hours, but that's just me. Dave, I suggest you change the timer when you see this post, as it doesn't take effect until the next turn, and I'll be away shortly after this time tomorrow. ;)

Hopefully I'll be able to access the game from home and thus it won't be an issue, but in the off-chance that it's a problem, it'd be nice to not miss 4-5 turns in a row. :)

If there's any voting going on, my vote's cast for a 72 hour timer.

Extended timer is good for me too, although I can pretty much guarantee running it out to the end in my case, no chance of being able to play until I get back on Monday (which is probably Sunday for most of you with time zones and all). Unless I talk my friend into logging in for me.

Just a question about missing turns, if I have things in the build queue, they will still be built won't they? What if I have a unit ordered to move to somewhere a long way away, will it still move there if possible? It won't declare war in order to carry out its orders or anything silly like that will it?

Automated builds, techs, and (pretty sure) unit movements will still be carried out in the event of you missing the turn. (They take action right at the end of the turn.) It is impossible for your units to declare war in automated mode - with the possible exception of a bug with submarines, not sure if that's been fixed yet but anyway it's irrelevant at this point in the game. If your units run into a dead end of rival territory while moving on automate, they will simply stop moving rather than declaring war.

Thanks for that, Dave. :)

V8 Mark has popped at least 2 techs from huts so far. Starting with a scout is a bigger boost than I thought.

Just a quick note to announce my declaration of war on the world. Expect my nukes shortly.

April fool's, of course ;)

After centuries of searching, our warrior has found his first hut. Yes! And not only that, there's a plains tile there! It's the very first temperate tile the English have discovered since 4000BC.

9 grassland
4 plains (including the new one)
25 tundra
62 ice

We found our 3rd marble too. Gee whiz.
