I've played as England several times, too, but my experience has been that it's easy to grab Cardiff and Edinburgh, but then the Vikings and the Celts NEVER forgive you, and eventually get all the other countries in the world to declare war on you, and the only way they would agree to end the war would be to give up one of your cities, so you're stuck for the whole game, not being able to end the war(s) and not being able to give up the very few cities that you do have. Eventually, some country will come along and crush you, because you just can't build enough fast enough to hold them off.
) hoping the other AIs would be so dimmed that it would be a breeze even with the underpowered position of England in the game. But apparently it wasn't. However, I am still not willing to give up entirely on the idea of making a super powerfull empire with the most underpowered of the civs in the game. Any ideas on how England would be able to get till India ? After that the rest of the world's a breeze 
. India I've noticed has the fastest growing population in the game. But they aren't in much position to expand peacefully into the largest unhabited piece of land in the game SIberia.
