Thanks to Barbatos, I finally used the #$&! world editor

In 3 out of 3 tiny Islands maps which I generated, there was a civ starting point which
was in range of Barbatos summons. In one of them Barbatos himself was in range...

why can't barbathos be founded in the same way as archeron ???
I mean : resurfacing on a place void of cultural influence, some X turns after the start ?

barbatos alone would be interesting. Those doviello just upped it to insane ;-) patria + mirror + gold + iron in you're capitals BFC... you're just lucky there's no food in there aswell

Bringing this up again... v0.30 patch c.

I hope there are plans to work on Barbatos. With 3 turn, 3 move summons, it's too frequent that one player or another starts within striking range of him: especially on a small map! And starting within range of Barbatos = death, no way around it. That's not fun.

Also, the lich has some buggy AI behaviour. I just played a (short) game where his summons could reach me in one turn but he didn't immediately wipe me out. Wraiths and elementals only started being summoned once I built a worker and moved it one tile closer to Barbatos. If I moved the worker out of this range, Barbatos stopped casting. Any existing summons would erratically attack my capital, stay still or go wandering.

The second weird behaviour is that for a while, Barbatos was casting every turn but no summons were appearing. Was he casting some sort of spell on himself? It happened for at least 10 turns in a row, then he went back to summons.

Lastly, Barbatos did finally assault my capital without being enticed by a worker. But it took over 150 turns for him to do it :P

He has to work his way up to spell extension I and II - the summons are slow at first.

Oh, I didn't know that... Though the summons already had 3 moves by the time I got my first worker built, so it's still excessive.

I also noticed that Barbatos summons have an appetite for workers.
I logged a few occurrences within this game report.

On tiny and small maps it appears that the chances are especially high that a civ will start within range of Barbatos. And with so few civs, losing one to him has a big impact on the game. hehe 'specially if its your civ that gets toasted.
