I mean the map that leaders stand in front of during interminable loading times. I have spent long enough working with computer cartography to understand why, for instance, Sumatra is joined to Malaysia or Ceylon to India. But what on earth has happened to Oman, Abu Dhabi and northern Libya? It's really very weird.

That's a bit of an odd overly specific question, especially given right next to it there's a seemingly non-existent India. Plus California is an island and... everything else wrong with that map.

Doesn't look like the exact same (New Guinea is missing, for instance), but there were several variations.
