The 2nd Team PBEM

Due to my schedule I will not be able to play this turn until Wednesday afternoon.

Sorry for the delay. I will be installing Civ3 on another computer this week to try and prevent this from happening in the future.

Spoiler :
Turn 19 (-3100) – someone else learned Warrior Code since the price dropped. There is no way of knowing whether it was Rik or gbno1fan, but I have to guess it was gbno1fan – Rik still doesn’t have a warrior, so he couldn’t have popped it and is less likely to have contacts for trading for it.

Settler moves to the new town location by the floodplains wheat – there is game in the marsh to the north. Even more food for me, but I can’t see clearing the marsh very soon – I’m going to need a lot of workers with all the marsh/jungle/mountains nearby.

Turn 20 (-3050) –

Classical_hero – my military is weak, I am up Masonry - he picked up Alphabet somewhere. I thought gbno1fan and I had a deal not to trade Alphabet – I hope gbno1fan didn’t trade Alphabet for Warrior Code.
Gbno1fan – my military is weak, I am up Masonry.
Rik_Meleet – my military is strong, I am up the Wheel and Ceremonial Burial.

Two civs have warrior code (c_h + ?).

Before I move I am at 13% of the world’s population with 2 citizens. Zululand has 20%. My GNP of 8 is first, but my manufactured goods of 4 is only 4th.

New town of Ugadabugada founded, starts worker – this town will probably produce nothing but workers for a while. Gbno1fan has a warrior just outside my borders, but I can trust him, right? My GNP increases to 11 (and I was first at 8), but my manufactured goods of 5 only moves me up to 3rd, but if I moved a citizen to get it to 6, then I would be first, so I’m not far behind. My northern scout sees some dyes – I still haven’t found any luxuries nearby…

It also looks like Rik and gbno1fan have a lot of room to expand – too bad classical_hero and I are so cramped…

Spoiler :
Turn 21 (-3000) –

I’m confused again – now it appears that only 1 civ has Warrior Code. Did I miscalculated last save? I’ll have to look later… Other than that no change in military or tech status of my known rivals.

My 3 citizens give me 16% of the world’s population – 19 citizens total. Gbno1fan has 3 citizens also. 3 for me, 3 for gbno1fan, 3 for azzaman (Korea), assumed 3 for classical_hero, 3 for Rik; that leaves 4 total for fe3333au and General_W. I’m #1 in GNP with 11, and I would still be number 1 even if I only had 8. My manufactured goods of 5 only puts me in 4th.

My scout meets a raging barbarian after 1 move – he moves away and meets a (veteran) Babylonian warrior! We have a very crowded land mass. I am up Masonry, Pottery, Alphabet, and the Wheel on General_W. My military is weak of course. I can barely see the border of a town of General_W’s to the south. Tech prices look exactly the same, so he is apparently up nothing – he is probably going for Iron Working first.

I start thinking seriously about changing HatontheCat from granary to barracks as this seems destined for a massive war, but nothing has to be done this turn. This is a bizarre map – it still doesn’t look like a pangaea, but we have 5 of the 7 civs on this continent.

Here! Here!

Perhaps we need to let this game just die - and start one with just people that are comitted to playing (pretty much) every day?

classical hero has been busy with work lately. he's been slowing down a few pbems. hopefully he gets less busy in the near future and can play more frequently.

Also, i've been getting a lot of homework from school recently, since mid-year exams are coming up. So my playing times are being messed up.
