So, does anybody like this at all?

Is 'best thing since sliced bread' an acceptable answer?

And wouldn't the 'Humanity' civics count as 'Rights' or something?
 
I'll help out. I'm a HORRIBLE at the technical part, but i'm great at the Creative half. If you need anything, Pm or post in the thread and i'll get on it. Are you interested in extending the modern tech tree, because i can help there. I'll post some wonder ideas soon.

P.S. The revoulutions idea is amazing. YOu should make the chance increase with distance and certain techs!

Spain already has two possible rebel civs and Germany needed another so Holland was included.

I added Denmark so one side of North Sea was covered. The second one was a hard choice but Norway made it on a coin flip.

Oh that's okay. You can help with anything you want. I'll show you a preliminary tech tree as soon as I'm done with the unit spreadsheet. Thanks for the coming wonder ideas.
Revloutions will be increased chance with some techs, some taxes, some resources, happiness, and distance.

I am interested in helping, but my area of expertise would be XML, and you have that covered, so I'll be backup!

List of Potential Wonders to Add:
• Channel Tunnel
• CN Tower
• Empire State Building
• Golden Gate Bridge
• Itaipu Dam
• Panama Canal
• Acropolis
• Alhambra
• Colosseum
• Easter Island Statues
• Kyomizu Temple
Machu Picchu
• Neuschwanstein Castle
• Petra
• Sydney Opera House
• Dome of Rock
 
"Conscription Army: Your army will be supplied by people from your civ, so an empire with 10 cities will not have as large of an empire as one with 50."

Units could cost food. For example, if you build a unit that costs 10 food, 10 food would be taken away from your city's food bar. If the city does not have 10 food, it would lose one populationpoint.

And if you would build all your units in Athens, people in Athens would become angrier (more war weariness because they might have lost their relatives) when Sparta, thet hasn't suffered at all wouldn't become so angry.

There's couple of ideas. And yes I liked the mod.

Well, in that case, its the best thing since French Bread; the yummier alternative to sliced ^^;

And I think Human Rights works out too.
I don't believe I can really help out with this mod though because I have no technical experience.
Also; I have to say I've been so desperate for the bridge/canals since Civ 3. In world maps, I grew tired of having to raze any cities in North East Africa that might prevent me building Suez and allowing me to actually get ships from one place to another without having to go across the entire coastline and I was irritated that I could never bridge that gap of one coastal space.
I suggested in Fall from Heaven that perhaps a bridge could increase commerce from tolls but slow down naval movements. Bridges could also be razed by other nations which would do a number of things to the unit that razes it. (I'll have to look up what I suggested on FfH; I can't remember) Artillery could also destroy bridges (in good old fashioned Red Alert style ^^ )
Likewise, I've longed for Rebellions and proper Unrest for a long, long time.

If I can do anything idea-wise, let me know. I'd love to be a part of this if I can be.

Edit: Oh, and on the note of food, perhaps excess food could contribute to unit support costs? After all, the military will need to get supplies somehow.

- Doctrines and Military Variation:

If somebody here ever played Hearts of Iron II doctrines are familiar, you will remember something like this:

Doctrines in HoI2 work giving bonus to the units, my idea is something different.
There would be two different "tech trees" one for tecnology and one for doctrines, the "research" for doctrines would be done by buildings like barracks and war academies and maybe by a officer specialist (i'll explain a alternative system using specialists in the future). The idea is that doctrines represent the organization of the army, so when you research, for example, Bronze Working you receive a basic unit and must research doctrines to have a more organized (and strong) unit, this can take different paths (when you take a path you can't go back), so creating nations with very different armies. In the above example maybe there's a Hoplite Doutrine(Greek cities) and a Elite training Doutrine (Alexander), and some other paths, they could lead to other paths and other decisions, in a normal game every nation would have a different army and a more organized force with high manpower could even win a technological superior army (Genghis Khan anyone? :P)

Looks good but Holland as a part of Germany,that realy hurts me! Germany did controle The Netherlands during WOII but the Dutch civilasation and the Dutch state exsiste already before the German one, I know there was an German Empire but that wasn't a political union and not even a pact that included al Germany. The Dutch could be a quite good nation by themself if they get Belgium or a bit of it and there colonies, Indonesia, South-Africa, Suriname and some other that were stolen from them. For the rest of it it looks very good!!
 
there's plent of possibilities, but how will you guys manage to have more than 18 civs?

We hadn't thought of that yet, hopefully when SDK comes out, we'll be able to change the civ limit.

I know Holland was it's own empire. But it's not big enough in history to be in the 18. So I included it as a rebel civilization for Germany which people should be grateful because they were out for most of this project.

I like that idea if it was possible. I will probably keep one tech tree for the sake of working.

On the bridges/canal issues, I think that there should only be certain units that are able to destroy bridges and canals like Combat Engineers and Artillery. That's a good, good idea.

That's a good idea, it goes along with the supply trains and caravan idea.

All good ideas, except I don't think Golden Gate Bridge and Panama Canal should be wonders because of canals/bridges being in game.

The funny thing is that i put those two in there BECAUSE bridges adn canals were in the game. I was going to have Panama increase canal movement speed, and the GG Birdge make all brides in your empire produce mor commerce.

But your in charge, so i can take those off the list.
