The Ancient Mediterranean MOD (TAM)

I've been looking over the support forum for 7-Zip and all i found so far is that the download might be corrupted. Someone mentioned a corrupt file will give that message. I just downloaded it myself and had no problems.

I know some places don't recommend the use of download accelerators because you can get corrupt downloads. If you were using one, you'll have to try again without it. Otherwise i am still looking for possible explanations.

(make sure the file is being downloaded as a binary transfer)

Everything seems to be as it should be. No accelerator, binary transfer, etc. I suppose I can try again tomorrow or before I go to sleep... Or I can try just downloading the do it yourself.

There are now 3 different variations of 2.5i listed at http://civ3.watorrey.net

a) self extracting compressed file
b) auto install via windows installer
c) 2 part self extracting files (~44 MB each)

The only remedy i can find for the error message that 3 players have reported is to download it again.

If anyone has trouble and redownloading works, please let us know.

Where i can find that song which sounds in start of every civ in this mod ? :crazyeye: It isn't some from default civ3 ones, am i right ? So... where is it ? :mischief:

I've been checking out the thread, in search of the King Minos leaderhead I've seen mentioned elsewere. Great work, btw.

If you're interested in updates, I'm making a Minoan civ myself, but since you have it done already I'll base mine in yours. I'm working on units(with the help of a popular creator) and have some stuff in mind like wonders and such, it will be a while, since I'm working on Fallout for now mostly, but it will be as accurate I can get it for Fellow Cretan Greeks(or anyone else interested).

I'm having in mind doing the Mycenae one too. Btw, I've spotted some leader names in the first page, the Greek versions are Idomeneas(not Idomeneos) and Meriones, though probably someone spotted this already. :)

FYI: none of the leaderheads are original work by anyone associated with putting together TAM. The Minoan animated leaderhead is actually suppose to be Atlas. I forget offhand who did it. The Egyptian leaderhead by Kinboat was requested for TAM but we didn't have anything else to do with it other than encourage Kinboat to finish it :)

Additional information is always appreciated. Whether or not any of it makes it into an update/patch is an entirely different story. There may not be another update for C3C TAM unless players start reporting bugs.

Translations can be changed but only if thamis agrees. He may or may not have a reason for using what you may consider a mistranslation.

Hi, I restarted playing this mod with Tam 2.5i.
I'm playing as Rome the known world map with all the 31 civs and Demigod diff., it's very interesting.

The Roman city list looks a bit wierd to me, anyways why do Etruscans start on the Adriatic sea ? They should be on the Thyrrenus (or however you spell it in Latin), not much north from Rome.

As long as the translations stay Greek (or their respective language) and don't become Latinized or Anglicized, I'm fine with them.

As a general guide I'm using Herodotus', Homer's, Jordanes', and Caesar's spellings, where applicable.
And people call me a purist ...

They start at the Adriatic because their real capital is too close to Rome on the map. They did have an important city where they start now.

I've seen others ask about it, I know we tried a PBEM with a very early version (1.2 or something). I'll have to take a look at what would be required to develop an 8-civ (MP max) version, I might be interested in a PBEM if there was enough interest.

yep, they did have (more than one). Although since Troy is so close to Sardeis I didn't think that would be a big deal. But ok... speaking of Troy, instead, why not replace it with Frigia and move the starting point a bit north east ? Can't really consider Troy a civ, it was more of a city state and of not long life, also. But it could be part of Frigia, I guess.

Is there any way to play this mod as a multiplayer?

yeah, just play the random map. The Fertile Crescent map is also suitable enough, just choose the civs wisely so that everyone has more or less the same room for expansion.

For example: Mycenae, Phoenicia, Hittites, Kolchis, Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Media.

The prefrences screen is messed up and the civilization select screens. I think the list names are off by 2 for the prefrences and 1 on the civ select (it also says Sid is the easiest difficulty level).

For the year counter, it only says 'Nov.' for each turn.

Also, it the city screen whenever i click anywhere the Founded date gets bigger by one 'Nov.'

have these been addressed before and i did not download the right one, or not?

otherwise, ess pretty gud
