The communication tower possibly isnt even the tallest building, and iirc it isnt really tall by any standards, possibly less than 40 metres.
You are right about the laws about the ancient ruins, but imo they should change. There really is far more to be gained by investing in the present, than by persisting to save every last bit of ancient relic, particularly when a large number of them has lost all significance apart from serving as an object to be smuggled illegaly to some provate collectors house. Lets face it, it isnt realistic to think that they will find another Laocondas and sons statue in those ruins; only small bits of pottery, and those are nowhere near as important as allowing us to have a better future in a modern city, with interesting architecture :)

There are loads of skyscrapers in the world, but only one Acropolis; if you know what I mean.
Americans can build they skyscrapers, they don't have any other man-built landmarks. Greece doesn't really need skyscrapers as a landmarks, and their practicallity is also questionable in cities like Athens, Paris,...
