The CFC's Choice Beyond the Sword Civilization Thread

0) Sioux/Native Americans (*after rant of Antilogic* maybe confirmed)
1) Byzantines
2) Ethiopians
3) Mayas
4) Khmer
5) Polynesians
6) Austria

2 remarks
4) Khmer could be Vietnam
6) Austria could be Italy or Poland

What? Sioux are not confirmed by Firaxis unless they have made some announcement in the last day I haven't heard. Just because there is art doesn't mean it isn't for a scenario.

In any case, I will pick 7, and many are prior Civ appearances (some were my favorites):

1) Maya
2) Byzantium
3) Austria
4) Hittites
5) Sumeria
6) Iroquois
7) Poland (what the hell...)

The officially confirmed list:
Babylon
Netherlands
Portugal

I really couldn't decide for 7, so I went with the Poles. SE Asian civ is a possibility, as discussed in other threads, and maybe another African civ.

1.Siam/Thailand.
2.Vietnam.
3.Moghul
4.Maya
5.Byzantium
6.Tibet.(unlikly but what the heck)
7.Khmer (dont believe the hype!)

1) Maya
2) Ethiopia
3) Khmer
4) Poland
5) Hittites
6) Sumeria
7) Dacia

2 Asian civs: (Because half of the world population live in Asia)
- Vietnam
- Thailand.

1 European Civs: (because 2 others already included)
- Poland

1 African civ:
- Ethiopia

2 from these 3:
- 1 ancient civ: Sumeria
- 1 south american civ: Maya
- 1 Mediterranean civ: Byzantium

Since the expansion focuses on the late stage of the game, there will probably no Sumeria. I put Maya in this group because they've already promoted a native american "tribe/barbarian" (or however they call it) to civilization, maybe there's no more room for a real (south) american civilization. Byzantium would also be a good choice, but we already have too much european civs, it is less likely to be included

I'm not actaully going to "vote," I'm just going to predict:

1) Netherlands
2) Portugal
3) Babylon
4) Maya
5) Shawnee
6) Swiss
7) Moors
8) Soviets
9) Sumerian
10) Khmer

OK OK, almost maybe confirmed.

It's confirmed or it's not confirmed. I'll stay on the optimistic side and hope they aren't included. No offense to the Plains Indians intended, but there are other civilizations that actually built full cities and stuff like that I would like to see included.

This reminds me of the de Gaulle craze, although in this case it's actually the right game. But until I see the animated-looking leaderhead, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

1) Poland
2) Israel
3) Austria
4) Byzantines
5) Vietnam*
6) Hungary

*) I can see this civ being left out because Saigan would be the obvious #2 city and I'm not sure about the Vietnamese government's appreciation of using the old name for Ho Chi Minh City.

Actually, both names are used. Ho Chi Minh City is the official name for the city, but half of things related to it are still called Saigon, for example: the most popular beer is Saigon Beer, the most famous soccer team is Saigon Seaport. On its 300th anniversary a long time ago, it was officially called Saigon - Ho Chi Minh city. I'm sure Firaxis wont face any protests if they name the 2nd city Saigon or choose anyone else rather than Ho Chi Minh as the leader

1) Khmer
2) Chimu
3) Ethiopia
4) Polynesia
5) Kongo
6) Armenia

EDIT: Removed Austria due to the Native American civ's probable appearance.

Say... I like the idea of the Kingdom of Kongo (especially with the inclusion of the Dutch and Portugal in the expansion). So with minus one for the Sioux, here is my list of seven:

1) ...
2) Sumeria
3) Byzantine
4) Kongo
5) Austria
6) Maya
7) Hittite

Ho Chi Minh should definitely be one of the leaders for Vietnam/Dai-Viet, plus one ancient/medieval era one that fought against the Chinese like Ngo Quyen.

Ho would be Chr + Cre (culture flipped the South :D ) or Chr/Exp.
Ngo would be protective + aggressive
