The changelog doesn't show half of it...

If the changelog doesn't show the half of it, that post entirely fails to show any of it whatsoever...

Are all 1347 of your posts this good?

Nothing wrong with his post, and I'll second the point: How about actually mentioning these unannounced changes you've spotted, seeing as how you went and made a new topic about them and all?

Since you apparently didn't notice, they went and *released* the new version. That means the changes are out there to be seen - discussing them should be fine.

I assure you anything that isnt in the changelog isnt done because Im trying to keep it secret but because I forgot to update. I certainly dont mind anyone posting if they see things I missed, I assume anyone who reads the changelog doesnt want to be surprised (im genrally against surprises in a strategy games anyway).

I'm more into surprises.
And not against wasting people's time?

As someone who has to wait before playing the new version, I would love it if you spilled the beans on some of these 'surprises'.

Pretty please?...

I don't see the changelog here any more, so I can't handily compare, but Mobility is now moved from exploration to horse. That surprised me.

The changelog is in the bug thread (behind the spoiler tag).

That one happened a version or two back, and I'd say it's not a bad change - at least it makes skipping the poor horsies less attractive.

Edit: Woah, two other posts while I was typing that.

wow flames........

if there are any changes kael missed, tell him so he can put them in the changelog.

For my wiki work, I try to keep this page up-to date. It has the changelog for the last bunch of versions (and will for 0.22, probably within the next week or so). Note that these are python and XML changes only; I haven't been putting .dll changes here.

The following text was removed from the original post due to innacuracy:
Spoiler :

I agree with the original poster;
typically the "full" changelog has a number of features which simply aren't mentioned in the official one.

Edit: So far, most of the items I've found that vary from the changelog are either likely defects, or details underneath the level of the changelog (for instance, every leader's AI change isn't individually mentioned). The most major item I've noted so far is kinda mentioned in the changelog: Hyborem doesn't get Manes until Hyborem builds a city.

Edit 2: still not seeing any major differences from the changelog (I've yet to go through the units, but I've gone through everything else). This changelog is very accurate compared to, say, 0.20 or 0.21. Perhaps the original poster is conflating lines changed with functional differences (for example, there are literally thousands of lines changed to support affinity, even though relatively few units actually use them)?

Edit 3: Hippus War Elephant is now Str 14.

Lots of new features in .22
No pressure, but if you felt like sharing what you've found, I'd be grateful. On the other hand, if you'd rather retain your knowledge as "trade secrets," so to speak, I understand that perfectly.

I usually don't share all my insights and strategies in an open setting like this either, it's much more fun to let that come out in a game setting (ie my Grigori mage-hero amphibious assault from behind enemy lines).

In any case, I'm glad you mentioned your discoveries, even if you're not prepared to share them just yet. I will take it under advisement that I need to study up if I want to remain competitive...or to at least retain the essence of something that might resemble competitive if you don't look at it directly and squint your eyes just right.

Catch ya' next game!:goodjob:

PS @ McWhinersons--Be of good cheer, and don't let it get you down if you don't automatically get your way. The OP is informative, it tells us the changelog is not nearly complete. That is useful information in and of itself.

McWhinersons?

interesting...
