The civIII Democracy Game

So all the positions that you can just claim have been taken?

Nope ,not yet ,even the president hasn't been appointed yet ,although for that position i will pick one among the candidate's.No offense ,but i wont let the nation be ruled by a total newbie.I need an experienced civer and forum roamer for this ,someone i can trust.

Can we revolt and throw out our existing government or would that get too violent and chaotic?

Leader's can be impeached if they do think's that arn't allowed. And if a leader does really bad ,people can demand him to open poll's and let the people decide ,if more than 50% of the people agree's with that.So bad leader's can be boycotted.

It's about time we get this thing on the road. :D :goodjob:

Who's the Prez and the mod?

Suggest you make a similar announcement in the Stories forum too - we got a lot of active SG players there. May be interested.

count me in, but I`ll be quite busy so I don`t want a position at start (Though I`m sure noone would want me in one  )

I guess we are almost ready to start deciding on particulars like level, and our civ, and our president. I am kind of waiting for Zachriel to join though. I was going to nominate him for president.;)

Count me in, though i do not prefer a leading role..
I'd like to just participate and help the leaders where possible

Great inititiative!

As Military Leader, If I have that position (which I belive), I don't think I would be President anyway.

Maybe Vice, if someone would REALLY, really want me too.

My Vote on Difficulty will be Emperor. As that is what I can handle myself... If there were a difficulty between Emperor and Deity I would probably be playing on that one...

My vote for Map size would have to be HUGE.

My vote for Playable CIV would actually be the AMERICANS, although their UU isn't that great, but a late Golden Age would fix that prob...

As the Americans are Expansionists and Industrious, they are really the Best Civ for HUGE maps. Ok, maybe not best but... both of their traits are traits that become better and better the larger the map is.

Expansionist will probably get us the whole first tech tree, and Industrious would get us a heavy start with a whole lot of infrastructure.

Might sound strange coming from the Military leader... a civ without Militaristic? Well, just bring those babies on!

Please, not the Americans!;) My vote for level would be monarch or emperor. As far as land size goes, I think huge would be fun if we were able to assign every citizen a city of their own, but this might be unwieldy. Normal or large map size would probably be best.

I vote Romans for the civ. Their excellent UU would give us a distinct military advantage while we are still working out the kinks in our system. The militaristic attribute would produce more leaders, and commercial would help us to build a strong economy.

I didn't notice a post for Foreign Minister. I'd like to volunteer my services for this exalted position.

Hehe. The south will rise again, right?

Works for me. We need to make some more nominations for president so Duck of Flanders can choose one.

The Civ3 demo game forum is up and running. Let's see who can make the first post there! :)

Again? We're still risen, baby. Yeah! ;)

I'd like to nominate Charis. Best durn succession gamer I've seen. Unfortunately he hasn't joined up. Can we institute a draft?

For the game particulars I vote for a normal sized map. That's a totally selfish vote though. My PC is a dog so I couldn't run for Pres on a bigger map.

For level I'd go for Emperor. With all of the micromanagement of a ruling council plus feedback from the populace it should be eminently doable. Maybe use Monarch if we want to build in a little wiggle room.

I´m in as well, although I will prioritate the ongoing Civ 2 demo game. I will not be one of those defectors... :)

The appropriate polls to get the game underway have been posted on the new civ3 demo game forum. Please come vote so that we can get the game underway.

Also, nominations for president are being accepted.

duck- would it be possible to be just a little guy who votes on the polls on what to build and the like but doesn't actually have to make up polls or any desicions?? I would like to take part in the polls but wouldn't have enough time to be anything major. Would that be OK?? If so, then sign me up :)

Alright if I join up?
Could I be Minister of Sanitation Engineering ? :D
(Garbage-man!) j/k
I don't have that much time right now until May 1st as I am an Income Tax Accountant/Lawyer. This is a busy time for me and this is my break from the numbers :p
This is also the first I've heard of this "democracy game" I thought it was the diplomacy board game.

I'm in, but I pobably won't be running for office.

I'm so in. And I second eyrei's suggestion of assigning everyone to a city, as that was my idea originally, and I still think it was a good one.
