Well Pweetman, thanks for the new BIQ , my CPU is a bit on the old side and by the mid 70's I make sure to have a book when I load up the Coldwar.
Just as a hint for me, and those like me. AKAnot exactly computer savvy, when I download your file, place it into the scenario folder, and add ElJusto's files to the BIQ. Correct?
Can I have both versions at the same time? Do I just need to add your BIQ and, choose it instead of the ColdWar version 1.6 one?
Sorry, I'm kind of dense when it comes to computer matters.![]()
Thanks in advance!
Uh oh.....as long as Canada has nukes I should be fine!
PS: just a small nuke??Please ????????I promise, I'll walk it, and feed it and brush it and everything.
How much work you plan to put in this.?And do you plan to change the leaderheads example in 1976 Stalin wasnt Russias leader Nikita Kruschev was i think. and i may be spelling his name wrong just to name a few.By 1976 a lot of leaders in most countries had changed.I like what youv'e done so far its a interesting era to me with cooler units at your disposal.Aye, yup. Canada isn't going to get any boomboom balloons. Sorry. But hey, you can edit the biq yourself if want, it's not difficult.![]()
And that's all it's really intended to be.its a interesting era to me with cooler units at your disposal.
Thanks for the quick response.I also made a few changes for my own private use.I changed all civs to paid labor I just dont like the idea of forced labor resulting into city population decrease that stuff may have happened in the dark ages but not in a modern era and another problem with that is the AI doesnt handle that very well. example any time a enemy gets near the city it will use that option to much to defend the city and the next thing you know the citys down to a population of 1 or 2 and severely effects the city to defend its self not to mention how it effects the citys capability to produce effective units and making it easier to conquer the city with no problem in my opinion.I also added the ability of some units to build armys.someone did this in another big here for this scenario and the AI seemed to handle it pretty well. And I have a question about what units you wouldnt consider appropiate to build armys besides the obvious air and sea units. And will you be making a version of the modern era on the larger map.?hopefully you will I like the larger map version and im sure others do as well.i understand that people with not very good computers would rather have the small map for shorter turn time purposes. but the turn times are pretty good on this map and i dont think it will be to bad on a larger map for some of us.I play the large map version and its not to bad for me.and i expect it would be about the same with your modern version. And that's all it's really intended to be.
To be completely honest, I don't quite know how far I'll go with this. I'll probably just take it as it goes, and when I've got free time I'll take everyone's suggestions and try to balance them out. Then I'll put them in. It really is going to depend on how much free time I have.
A note on suggestions and changes: This is intended to really just be TCW fast forwarded. I have absolutely no intention of drastically shifting game balance to one side or another. This is El Justo's scenario through and through. All I did was change the era's.
So, although I welcome all suggestions, I intend to be quite conservative with what I'm actually going to implement. Don't be dissapointed if I reject your ideas. It might be that I actually like them, but thought they would change the flavor/flow/playstyle of the game, and I do not want that.
About leaderheads: yeah, that's a harmless little change, and I'll have that in the next version.
Edit: Oh, and when El Justo releases the next SP version, I'll do my best to get a modern version of that up too.![]()
