Well, as is obvious from the poll, can you cook? Let's be honest now, shall we? :D Vote!

Bonus : - Do you have a specialty or killer dish/recipe/masterpiece? :D

I voted for your second-to-last option, but the people telling me it's good may just be doing that to not hurt my feelings....

Actually I can cook fairly well, and improvise when I need to. Used to be just the simple stuff when I first entered bachelorhood, but over time that stuff gets boring and I've learned to expand my abilities. I can now make a good lasagna, excellent (I think anyway) enchiladas, and can do a reasonably good stir-fry. Nothing exceptionally elaborate (I just got an Indian cookbook but it'll probably be awhile before I tackle one of those creations), but functional and reasonably various. I still make the peanut-butter-and-banana sandwiches too now and then though.... ;)

I can, but I prefer not to, citing a 2001 "hot chocolate" incident.

I made macaroni and cheese the other day. But I noticed after I had my second bowl that there were some small bits of what appeared to Teflon from the pan I used in the macaroni.

I don't think I'll make that again for awhile. :cringe:

I'm quite learned in the way of the cooking.

Veal Scallopini in Marsala is my trademark (may not be correctly spelled). I know I'm a baby-killer, but its too damn good!

Seems I'm the worse so far - I can't. :) Except for instant noodles and stuff. I can't even fry an egg. :p

"Yes, I can. People consistently tell me it is good."

My wife loves my Breakfasts...especially my breakfast burritos.

Yup i can cook, its pretty easy, atleast for me it is :)

The stuff i can make:

-Anything pre-packaged with instructions on it
-Pizza
-Sushi
-Freshly caught and fried fish
-Smothies of all types
-Rice (kinda goes with the sushi)
-Spanikopita mmmmmm good greek good
-Some Shrimp and Liquor Greek dish
-Pankakes
-Omlets
-Noodles of all sorts
-steaks, hamburgers, BBQ fish

Needless to say I think that I will be able to handle myself when i move out:goodjob:
EDIT:That is if i have enough money to buy food :)

Maybe i should become a prof. cheff heh heh

But my killer dish may have to be my Pizza, it is made from scratch and tastes so damn good.

About what I'd expect fr your evil eminence. :D

So would that mean you're susceptible to poisoning via food prepared by servants? Hmm, will note in notebook. :)

I'm not so good in the kitchen.
Within 100 meters of my home I have a good Greek, a Turkish, and a Chinese restaurant and there is snackbar.
I visit them quite frequently.

But I really should spend more time in the kitchen.

Yes it is what you would expect.

And no, one is immune to poison after a leisurely swim in the Styx during my last holiday to Hades. And the servants are all fanatically loyal.

And I bet they tell you that your gas doesn't stink? (Farscape reference) I visualize you looking like the dominar in Farscape! :D

If you are ever caught in a Nuclear Attack while visiting Edwards AFB (in Southern California), you might get to taste my recipes for the "food" you'll get during yur time in the fallout shelters. I called it "gruel".... never had to taste it, though.

PS, About the time of Chernobyl, some commander decided we needed to be able to "survive" a fallout scenario, and guess who got tagged with making a plan that would "work".... LOL, FEMA (you may know of the Federal Emergency Management Agency after Sept. 11 and Bush's speech tonight) loved it. Therefore, it had to be absurd beyond belief. Bureaucrats.

I put down "yes I can cook, I'm a professional chef." because, well, that's what I used to do. I haven't worked in a restaurant since last July, but before that I spent five years working in restaurants and bakeries doing everything from washing dishes to baking to line cook to pastries. Such fond memories I have of spending twelve hour days making puff pastry and creme englaise...NOT.

To anybody who really thinks they might want to be a pro chef, you better have one hell of a monkey work ethic, cause a twelve hour day was a minimum. And the noise, and the heat, and the constant *****ing in French accents...GRRRRRR!!!

For dinner, within 5 mins ill have beautiful english fish n chips on the table; properly cooked; steaning hot; delicious; but only cos the chippies 2 mins a way:D

I'm in the second to the last one like most of you seem to be.

I can do Authentic:
Chinese Cambodian Vietnamese Thai Laotian Mexican Spainish Italian French German Sudanese
My favorite is the first 6 though.
I can also do all the other stuff liek chili and spagetti.
I can't ever get a good pastry though

But I throughly enjoy making a good breakfast. :)

starlifter : Thats kind of scary about the power FEMA seems to have. I knew a guy who was second-in-command of the So-Cal FEMA and he was just like Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory. A real nut case thinking "they" were always after him. However he never had any proof or observations to back it up. "they're always after us. donchu know???" :)

I'm consitantly good with simple dishes, and I have a few "specialites," if you want to call it that. I can make good pizza, lasagna, and I can do wonders with a pound of hamburger. For the record, it does not include boxes of "Hamburger Helper." Vile stuff. I've also been known to make toll-house cookies from scratch. Good stuff.

Oh, and I have one dish loved by all who have eaten it: a fruit salad of my own design. I'm quite proud of it.

Well I can cook for my self no problem, which generally involves sirloin Steak barbequed. It is cooking for others is when I get into trouble.
