The Dual Alliance

Celts - Turn 213

The Celts request our Spanish brethren to resume spice exports to our empire. :)

Completed the Docking Bay, for our space programme.

Celtic cavalry killed 2 Carthaginian marines outside Lagash. Jets bombed another Carthaginian cavalrymen. :)

Game will be emailed.

Our first nuclear-armed sub leaving port, for a secretive location...

Our fleet located the Arabian carriers. There're two of them, escorted by battleships.

Probably the Last Charge of our cavalrymen, outside Lagash. Killed two enemy marines... :)

This is a great game you guys. I'll be sad to see it end.

Of course, you keep on playing till one of you conquer the world!

It won't be ending for quite awhile. ;) Still many turns to go before getting the space victory.

Besides, we're planning to grind Arabia into dust (for all the bombs they delivered onto Tolosa and sinking my one battleship :)); that is if donsig is up to it. :mischief:

Up for it? I'm positively looking forward to it! Arabic bombers destroy much of Old Arab City (again). Valiant Celtic Cavalry falls outside Lagash as Carthage moves up mech infantry to the area. :( Spanish bombers work feverishly to bomb Carthage's oil supply and the surrounding area.

Four elite and two vet tanks, supported by eigth artillery are set to assualt the last Babylonian stronghold: Nineveh, which is built on a hill.

Game e-mailed.

Celts - Turn 214

Completed the Cockpit as well, for our space program.

Cavalrymen charging at a few more enemy units along the Spanish-Carthaginian border - killed 1 marine and 1 damaged infantry. Jets failed to dmg the mech inf beseiging Lagash though... But we have 6 mech inf prowling the area. ;)

Upgraded all tanks to MAs. Oops, forgot to send the tech again... Next turn...

Carthage seemed to have given Nora to the Arabs (?). For resources?

We're researching satellites, in furtherance of our space programme goals. 4 turns...

Game will be emailed.

The marches betw Lagash and the Carthaginian empire...

The Arabian warships and carriers north of Arab City...

Spain, turn 214 (980 AD):

The seige of Nineveh produced Spain's first great leader: Cordoba! He rushed to Babylon to form an army which will most likely hold mech infantry.

Nineveh fell swiftly after Cordoba's attack. :)

Cordoba wasted no time in forming his army of mechanized infantry. He and his army set off for the Carthaginian oil fields in the north.

The Spanish Air Force based in Ashur bombed Carthaginan forces outside Lagash. Mech infantry reinforced Lagash as well.

Arabic bomber continue to take their toll on Spain's northern cities though Spanish jets downed 3 enemy bombers.

Railroad link between north and south almost re-established. Extending railroad into old Babylon.

Lost a couple tanks to Carthage but they lost more mech infantry. :)

Shot down a few more Arabian bombers!

Madrid is the #1 city in the world! [dance]

Our 2 MAs marauding along Spanish-Carthaginian border found Rusaddir defended by puny infantrymen... :mischief: Following some artillery bombardment, the MAs turned towards the city. Lost one MA; killed one infantry. 2nd defending infantry killed by new MA just airlifted into Tolosa... :) Phew...

The Battle for Carthage and Leptis Magna : -

Our bombers hit the infantry guarding the radar tower on the mountain betw Carthage and Leptis Magna first; then the enemy was removed with an MA. After a mighty artillery barrage on Leptis Magna, our MAs rolled into the city with little serious opposition. We captured the city almost intact, except for the cultural buildings. Also caught one of their battleships in port. :)

Then the stack of more than 10 MAs outside Leptis Magna became idle. The first MA rolled out to hit Carthage... and won. Driven by the determination to be the first to capture the capitol of the enemy, the Celtic armored forces charged into the city. Upwards of whole 6 - 8 MAs were killed, along with 5 - 6 MIs of the enemy, but at the end of the day, the city was ours. :)

And we had captured the Sistine Chapel and Pyramids as well. :) We emptied out our forces fr Provincia Korea to hold Carthage and Leptis Magna.

Spain, turn 220:

Spain has entered her Golden Age.

Rebased bombers to Nineveh so as to be better able to pound Carthage.

Arabs have rebuilt their bombers. 8 squadrons attacked the north of Spain and Spanish jets were able to shoot down half of them. :) Spanish scientists are researching stealth. Spain continues work on her coastal defenses as two Arabian transports are off the south coast of Spain.

Wow, Knight-Dragon is beating you by 700+ donsig! How did that happen??

He took on the Aztecs early and established himself on two continents (palace on one and FP on the other). I did not enter major wars until recently. I went 200 turns without a great leader - and I still don't have a FP! :(

Luckily, we are allied!

Celts - Turn 221

We are in the midst of building 4 ICBMs; also have 4 nuclear-armed subs roaming around... Plans are afoot for more.

Our space programme is coming along nicely; over half completed. The Arabs are believed not to have started theirs yet, or they are way behind. :)

1 turn to semi-conductors. 5 turns to finish the Cure for Cancer or CFC for short. CFC is good for happiness, as we are know. :)

Our forces in Provincia Carthaginia are digging in and resting up for the next campaign. Plans are afoot to build and airlift more MAs into the region as well. The Carthaginians are finished, even if they don't know it yet.

Arabian battleships roaming around outside Spanish Coast City at will. :( Even the mighty Celtic Navy is wary of them, with squadrons dispersed all over the world. Our naval yards in Alesia are hecticly building battleships at the rate of 1 per 2 turns, but it will take some time before we can build up sufficient mass to challenge them.

Our population has surpassed the Arabs'. For now. :)

Game will be emailed.

Preliminary Plan for Crushing Arabia :)

Preliminary Steps : -

1) The Celtic Empire to attack and conquer Japan in a swift naval invasion.
2) Will then airlift the entire Celtic Army onto the continent.
3) Will pass one city to the Spanish; somewhere where the Arabs can't reach. Maybe ring it with Celtic units.
4) The Spanish Empire will also airlift entire Army onto the continent.
5) Both Empires to build the SDI small wonder first.
6) The Spanish to remain at war with the Arabs, to induce them to continue building warships.

Then the real invasion begins.

Objectives : -

Main - Raze all Arabian cities; destroy their production base. Maybe excepting for those holding Wonders.
Secondary - Hunt down the Arabian battleships and carriers.

We await comments from our estemmed Spanish brethren, and other militarily-inclined minds. :)

This is going to fun, like our first German SG. :D :groucho:

Spain, turn 221:

Planted a spy in Mecca. They have 108 mechanized infantry!

The plans outlined above look good. We must talk about dividing Carthage between us.
