In CivII I liked the Eiffel Tower Great Wonder. It repaired your reputation if you were a scumbag leader who violated treaties and used nuclear weapons (and who isn't? :mischief: ). They need to bring that back, I think it was a cool feature because honestly, why should your reputation in 2000AD depend on what you did in 500 BC. I think that's a little ridiculous. If not bringing back the Eiffel Tower then at least do something with rep that will slowly repair itself. I hate not being able to trade in the modern age with someone because I fought one lousy war with them 2500 years ago.

Reputation healing should be a feature of the diplomacy. I.e. send food aid to a neighbouring nation or send medical aid when a town has been hit by a vulcano eruption.

especially since the reputation system seems broken. I can sometimes actually go without doing anything bad yet all the other civs say that I betrayed someone and therefore won't deal with me

Hey sending food and medical aid doesn't always improve your reputation. Look at the United States. We spend billions per year in that stuff raising our national debt, then GW ruins it by pissing everyone off by attacking countries that pose no threat to us. I don't think other countries care much about the aid we send people.

Can we see real life politics as something else as Civ3 politics perhaps? In real life the Pyramids don't provide a Granary in every Egyptian city either.

I don't think CivIV should have a wonder that messes with the enemy AI. If they include the people's opinions of you, though, that could work.

I think The Eiffel Tower should be in Civ 4, but not in the way it was in Civ2.

I suggest th Eiffel Tower boosts the Luxury in some way (greater effet than marketplace), and also it should bring tourism very quickly, quiker than other wonders.

In real world it's a relativly young wonder (115 years old) compared to the Great Wall in China or the Pyramids, but it's the most visited site in the world. (Japanese are particuliary fond of it).

Also Paris is world known for Luxury products...
Maybe should this wonder create a new Luxury ressource that's unavailable before, such as perfumes or high-quality clothes ?

I also miss the Statue of Liberty in Civ3. It should be back in Civ4.
I can suggest two effects possible for this wonder :

- Worker Fountain : Produces a worker of random nationality every turn. Also the owner of this wonder can merge a foreign worker so than it integrates automatically.
In real world, this wonder is the symbol of immigration in America. New York is probably the city that brought the most immigrants in the world history...

- Gift Wonder : Upon completion of this wonder, you give it to another civilization, and it greatly improves your reputation toward this civilisation and also a little toward other civilizations. After that it only brings tourism in the city where it is welcomed.
Again I refer to real world : IRW, miss liberty was built in France, and given as a gift to the people of America.

Couldn't the Statue of Liberty be a sort of Industrial Age Longitivity, aka cities grow with 2 citizens every time the food box is full, to represent immigration?

I would like to see more Wonders later in the game.

And Future Techs should give you some sort of advantage, not only points. For each Tech you could have +5% of income... or there could be a bonus after the breakthrough of the Tech. You could receive a SGL, MGL, money, an increase of hp's in one unit, a free spy (allowing you to see an enemy full info), absoluting nothing, ...

That's a good idea... An uncomplicated way to represent immigration.

I think a good modern wonder (c. 1930) would be "Hollywood." Reduces war weariness in every city while boosting trade and culture.

There should also be some wonder (SOMETHING! ANYTHING!) that reduces corruption, like say "The New York Times."

Hey there should be a Gateway Arch Wonder that allows the city to produce settlers with no cost of population. That could represent the westward movement of settlers in the 1840s and 50s in the United States. The only problem is that the Arch wasn't built until the 1960s.
