If the F22 aircraft is so good that it can shoot down over a hundred aircraft without loss in a simulation.
Why does the US air force need any more of them ?
Is 183 F22s not enough to take care of all the other fighter aircraft in the world ?

Well they have more than enough nukes to destroy the world a few times over. Why not build more than enough F22s to destroy the opposition many times over too.

Why is every thread you make designed to criticise the US government, or Americans in general?

HA! You -really- think we're building a lot of F-22s? No, as you pointed out, we don't need that many. The additional funds are actually building F-303s to defend ourselves against bad space aliens that live in people's heads and make their eyes glow. Yeesh, everyone knows this. Get a clue next time before you post.

Because when the aliens come, America will be ready to deliver some Earth brewed cans of whip ass.

Of course not. As a strategy gamer yourself you should know that one should churn out as many of the very best weapons systems as your economy can afford. And then some more for good measure. If you have excess cash sitting in the bank instead of madly clicking on the "build" button while waiting for your harvesters then you're doing something wrong.

For it is not enough to compare yourself with just your existing enemies and their existing arsenal. You never know who you will have to face tomorrow on the fields of battle. One must always be prepared even in times of peace, or face annihilation. That is the lesson learnt from history.

Strange, I just posted to a thread pointing out the absolute hypocrisy of Europeans whining about trade rules with the USA.
Not that Ireland would accept handouts from others for it's farmers.

you dont get it, you just dont get it. and you never will. kind of like something that rhymes with fussy.

This insult is too advanced...what is he talking about?

to the OP- My tax money at work.

It still doesn't rhyme. Epic fail.

On topic, I think that there is validity in criticizing having 'too many' F-22s, but this may not quite yet be the point at which that happens. You generally, in a dogfight, don't want to outnumber the enemy too much, because if you do over and over again the pilots start to lose a bit of their edge.

1.) No matter how good an aircraft is it can still only be in one place at one time. There is a lot of airspace out there.

2.) You need to look at just how many aircraft the Raptor is replacing. Take a look at the number of F-15s reaching the end of their service life without an F-22 to replace them. The airforce is in fact reducing airframes.

3.) We like reminding Russia just how much we own them :p :)

What?

Making stuff up to sound smart usually has the opposite effect.

yes it does. and why are you being such a jerk about it?:(

care to suggest a rhyme MC?

Oh and hossam, I see your messages now and will get to answering them in the morning. I have been in the middle of a naval reactors (my boss) audit all week and just missed them.

Exactly. 153 jet fighters aren't going to be able to do enough damage to your typical stack of doom for your ground troops to handle them all.
