Maybe it would be possible to make vampires and their line demi-heros? National units with max caps over 3 - maybe 7 or 10? They should be individually very powerful and convey bonuses onto other units. But not in themselves be heros. Then the "servants" of the vampire kingdom can be your massed units. Moroi could keep their blood burn, there should be some Mace-man equivilant etc.

Vampires mayhap should also be broken down into 3 tiers, instead of only 2. They could over lap in tier two with the servant line.
Blood Pet -> Moroi -> Thrall (Maceman) -> Berserker
Blood Pet -> Bloodspawn(Axeman) -> Vampire -> Vampire Lord

Moroi and Thrall and Berserker would be your mass mainline army units. With burning blood type tactics.
Bloodspawn, Vampire and Vampire Lords would be your support/command/semi-magical units. And perhaps make them national units with higher than standard limits. Bloodspawn max 10? Vampires Max 7? Vampire Lords max 4?

Bloodspawn Might be a hard hitting unit that feeds on Moroi to gain strength.
Vampires may Be able to feed, and Gain health after wining a combat (lifespark)
Vampire Lords should be given the "Dominate" spell for free, and be immortal.

EDIT: Also an idea, is that whenever a Vampire or Vampire Lord is in a city, that city gains 1 Free "Vampire Govenor" in that city. Cool aristocratic representation. :)

I favor this option as well. The moroi should have some flavour, taking burning blood makes them plain axemen.

how about a very simple option?

remove burning blood and divine .... add feast (kill a bloodpet for move and attack)

also , can we add an promotion path to the existing brujah? and imho to all the berserkers.... at least 1 upgrade to the colateral damage

Kael already Decided what he was going to do:

CHange burning blood into 2 seperate spells, one which is divine is castable on other people, the other is self only, and the moroi will keep them. The issue was not with game balance, but an exploit from the spell also being divine, he took care of this issue, and everything will "essentailly" remain the same. Except now casters who have "burning blood" may cast it on others instead of themelves.

We can still change stuff and make the calabim more interesting.

Definitly.

I like my suggested changes because they showeven more clearly how the vampires rule their people, since before any old soldier could be made intoa vampire, now only the few chosen ones. Others are just used to defend vampires and die horrible deaths.

Well, bloodpets that make it up to being vampires are hardly common even now... I look at the Calabim as the sort of society where the only way you can get anywhere is by putting your life on the line multiple times, and for those that survive, there's a spot near the top waiting. The vast majority of the populace just go about their lives until they get eaten by a vampire or somesuch.

Yes, but i think that my ideas do a good job of representing that society, better than what we have currently.

Also Societies of this kind are right of birth. Vampire are vampires cause they're BORN that way, leaders are leaders cause their born that way. Its not about "Rising out of the ashes" its NOT the american dream from rags to riches, its rich to rich a servant to servant, segregated society. Personally i think Vampires should be even MORE exclusive, but also get a bump in status as for it.

Are you sure about that? Everything I know about FfH vampires says that vampiricism is a gift that the upper class guards closely, but it is a gift. Those humans (i.e. Losha Vales) that prove themselves worthy, competent, and unusually cruel can recieve it.

Hm. Well im not against the "Truly worthy" being indoctrined into the aristocracy. But i dont want the peasents mixing with the nobility. Their dirty.
Fancy parties, blood and wine, and sex and debauchery belong to the upper classes, which of course disavow any knowledge of such activity.
The servants are meant to be that, and it IS so hard to find good help these days. IF the servants can think they may rise out of their station...well, it'd be anarchy! Servants should know their place.
-Qes (In Vampire mode.)

Well then I guess it makes perfect sense that those peasants with extraordinary cunning and martial prowess can become vampires, and feast on the untalented, doomed populace in turn!
