Taking for granted that a 3rd expansion is coming, so that my suffering will be immeasurable when it does not, I thought we might have one of this games before that happens.

Extra kudos for the winners if we get the expansion, extra disappointment for everybody if it does not! It's an extra-extra situation, so come along and participate.

Rules:
- You may only pick 8 civs and 8 leaders, plus 1 Alt Leader which must be specified. The Leaders and Civs do not have to coincide. That is, you can spread your bets by choosing leaders without selecting the corresponding Civ, but there's a bonus for getting a Civ-Leader pair right.
- You get 5 points per correct leader OR correct Civ. If you pick a correct Civ AND the correct Leader for that Civ, you get 15 points instead.
- You get 15 points if you correctly guess the Alt Leader.
- Leeway will be given for close enough guesses. (E.g. Abyssinia VS Ethiopia). What constitutes 'close enough' can be discussed by the members after the event.
- You can make alterations prior to any knowledge or potential leaks. Make sure you do so in a new post otherwise I won't be able to keep track.

This post will be used for tracking everybody's predictions so that the rest of the thread can freely be used for discussion. Actually, stick to this thread if you wish to discuss the expansion more generally and use this one only to discuss specific player's choices, etc.

Is this alright Mods?

Anyway, I'll start:

Venice/Enrico Dandolo

Swahili/Tippu Tip

Austria/Maria Theresa

Sioux/Sitting Bull

Portugal/João IV.

Vietnam/Trung Sisters

Huns/Attila

Babylon/Hammurabi

Kublai Khan/China and Mongolia

Portugal - Joao Ii
Maya - Pacal
Babylon - Hammurabi
Byzantine - Theodora
Argentina - Jose san Martin
Italy - Garibaldi
Navajo - Manuelito
Berbers - Kahina

These are not my wishes byt they are the ones I guess could appear.

Navajo and Berbers could be changed to aome other Native american and African peoples.

Maya - Lady Six Sky
Portugal - João II
Ethiopia - Haile Selassie
Babylon - Nebuchadnezzar II
Byzantine - Theodora
Italy - Enrico Dandolo
Navajo - Manuelito
Vietnam - Trưng Sisters

Edit. Adding my Alt leader's bet: Egypt - Ramesses II

Colombia led by Simon Bolivar is also very likely. He would join my list if the devs decide to include the Byzantines as the Roman alternative leader, cutting Byzantines as civ and making room for another civ.

Byzantium - Justian I
Venice - Enrico Dandolo
Maya - Pakal 1
Huns - Attila (something special, like Maori in GS)
Portugal - Joao IV
Austria - Maria Theresa
Sioux - Sitting Bull (one of the reasons I belive in exp3 is because there is no clear USA native American Civ)
Songhai - Askia (Need one more African civ)

Alternative leader - Abraham Lincoln USA (tied with something new regarding Loyalty mechanics)

Maya - Pacal
Babylon - Hammurabi
Byzantine - Theodora
Ethiopia - Haile
Shoshone - Pocatello
Vietnam - Trưng Sisters
Huns - Attila
Venice - Enrico Dandolo ( the economy win mechanic )
portugal/spain - isabel

Not sure if this thread isn't a bit early, as nothing is confirmed. :D
But anyway...

Portugal - That Joao guy that also was in Civ4...Joao II. I think?
Maya - Lady Six Sky (I need more women!)
Babylon - Hammurabi (Just guessing blindly here)
Italy - Garibaldi (I like the idea someone else had earlier in this thread :D)
Vietnam - Trung sisters (Long time favourite)
Ndongo/Angola - Ana Nzinga (Good placement on world map and another female leader)
Apache - Geronimo (I kinda feel like to put in a pack of rebels/guerilla in here, which also leads to...)
Gran Colombia - Bolivar

Alternative Leader - Theodora for Rome to cover for Byzantium

Im feeling a strong vassal/resistance/rebel theme here.

It is hard to predict, but I'll just make several guesses.

Portugal - Maria II (I'm sure Portugal will appear)
Ireland - Brian Boru (I believe there should be one clearly Celtic civ, so this will be my pick)
Maya - Lady Xoc (If 3rd expansion becomes real, I have no doubts Maya will be there. Maybe they will get female leader this time)
Babylon - Hammurabi (Babylon MUST appear. It is the only one original civ that isn't in Civ6 yet.)
Berber - Masinissa (north-west of Africa is still empty)
Serbia - Stefan Dusan (Because why not? Eastern Europe needs more representation in the series.)
Apache - Geronimo (Native American civ from North America)
Vietnam - Trung Sisters (East Asia)

I feel like we are being a bit presumptuous still. We think there's an expansion coming soon, but we don't know for sure either with regards to magnitude or time.

That being said (and since the rules permit changes at will), here's my prediction:

Babylon, Hammurabi
Byzantines, Alexios Komnenos
Colombia, Simon Bolivar
Italy, Garibaldi
Madagascar, Ranavelona
Mayans, Six Sky
Portugal, Joao I
Vietnam, Trung Trac
Alt-leader: Ramesses

I fully expect to make some changes upon announcement and revelation of the introductory video.

I like how so many people are set on the Trung Sisters.

Italy - Garibaldi (I like the idea someone else had earlier in this thread :D)

Im feeling a strong vassal/resistance/rebel theme here.

I thought about Garibaldi as well, but I feel it doesn't quite fit. That's why I'm more inclined towards Victor Emanuel II, with maybe Garibaldi or the Count of Cavour as unique Governor. Governors are such a great part of Civ 6, I really hope it gets a bit more depth, at least in the form of one more Leader having a unique governor.

Also, everybody is adding an alt-leader, so I should change the rules to accommodate that. What should that be? 10 points for guessing the correct alt leader?

Portugal, Joao

Is that the first one?

Yes

Moderator Action: As this game is founded on double speculation (speculation about there being another expansion and which civs and leaders might appear in said expansion), this thread is moved to Ideas & Suggestions.

I'm basing my list mostly on the leak from last year, with the remaining two + the alt being ones I'd like to see myself in some form. My leader choices are boring though as I don't know much about world history at all, but all of my civ choices were present in V so I've just listed their V leaders, :crazyeye:

Maya - Pacal
Byzantium - Theodora
Portugal - Maria I
Assyria - Ashurbanipal
Shoshone - Pocatello
Ethiopia - Haile Selassie
Venice - Enrico Dandolo
Huns - Attila
Spain (alt) - Isabella

Maya - Lady Six Sky
Portugal - Maria II
Babylon - Hammurabi
Ethiopia - Haile Selassie
Burma - Bayyinuang
Swahili - Sultan al-Hasan ibn Sulaiman
Finland - Urho Kekkonnen
Navajo - Barboncito

Alt: Catherine the Great - Russia

Maya- Lady Six Sky
Portugal- Joao II
Assyria- Ashurbanipal
Ethiopia- Ezana
Italy- Cosimo de Medici
Navajo- Manuelito
Vietnam- Trung Trac
Colombia-Simon Bolivar
Alt Leader: Theodora for Rome

Ugh. I have several superposed theories but picking one another is difficult. I guess I will start by presuming my one longshot hope (i.e.Bulgaria over Byzantium) and then extrapolating from there.

Bulgaria - Simeon I (no Colombia, they seem to be avoiding similar-names, mostly)
Vietnam - Trung Trac (I want Burma, but the Trac sisters are much more in line with VI's design philosophy)
Timurids - Tamerlane (I want Nur Jahan, but there's always hope for a third Indian leader further down the line)
Navajo - Barboncito (it was this or the Apache, but I think the Navajo have a lot more going for them, Geronimo aside)
Portugal - Isabella (I suspect Portugal and Spain were intended to be blobbed together in the base game based on the leader portraits leak, but if we are indeed getting a separate Portugal she is still a likely candidate, especially if Portugal is a "clone civ")
Ethiopia - Haile Selassie (he's a great figurehead and I don't see much compelling reason to change him)
Maya - Lady Six Sky (a bit of a token choice but she could be made very interesting)
Vatican - Innocent III (I tried to think of dual Genoa/Venice leaders but they all disappoint me. I return to my original, if less likely idea)
Alt Leader: Ramesses II, Egypt and Olga, Russia (Given the slight feature creep with each expansion I think they will try to top Eleanor just a bit; two new leaders is the best I can come up with, aside from maybe some "clone" civs)

its the 2nd one!

its the 2nd one!

I know, I was asking Eagle Pursuit.

Anyway, I'm changing my alt leader to Bismarck in face of new insights!

Also, I'll be updating this thread slowly as obviously I didn't take into consideration such a simple thing might turn out to be a lot of work :p.

Just remember to add any changes in new posts. It's not practical to check edited posts, and we need the timestamp later on to decide whether something was posted before or after a leak.
