The fort was destroyed,but plane in it was still safe

It must be a bug,I think.
The steps to reproduce the bug:
1,build a fort,then put a Fighter in it.
2,The fort is destroyed by random events.

The figther will stay there safly,and it can do the actions you ordered normally.
But ,shoudn't the Fighter be lost as the fort's been destroyed?Can planes exist without city or fort?
Sorry,I forgot to have the screenshot,and I have deleted the save file.It's been weeks ago.
