The Game Guide series

Nice to see Zenobia of Palmyra as a leader. 👍

Well, now I really miss the game. But I suppose it's better to have played and uninstalled, than to never have played at all. :-p

By the way, I'd personally get the second Scout 9 out of 10 times. :)

That herd of Elephants looks awesome! ❤️

Now that I am back to viewing this on my PC screen, I am again reminded about how detailed the world is. The elephants, yes, but also the fields, the farms, the flowers, the literally hundreds of people on screen at the same time, going about their business. Or is it even more? How many little people are on screen at about 2:42 in that video? In any case, I think Ara looks incredible. I suspect that in my first few games, I am going to spend a not insignificant amount of time just looking at things.

This was a great video to explain how regions and zones work in Ara, as well as to discuss some of the strategic considerations. I feel like this aspect of Ara has not gotten nearly enough attention. When Civ 5 moved from square to hexagonal tiles, that was a major improvement to Civ maps. But Ara does away with regularly shaped tiles altogether. It's not a small thing in my opinion.

I must admit, I may uhhh...have watched that short video about 10 times. 🙃

I am an avid gardener. I loved the flowers and especially the ferns.

Yes, I think the irregularly shaped regions make more sense with each region separated into zones. It makes more real world sense than hexes, to be honest. Should make for wonderful TSL earth maps, too.
