I was also severely disappointed with F-Zero and Soul Calibur 2. :mischief:

I dunno, I understand why Prime is good, and I know that I should be loving it, and I do like it, but I just couldn't get into playing it. But unlike F-Zero and Soul Calibur 2, I cannot find anything wrong with Prime, it's just I can't get into it.

How much is the GB player? I'm intrigued. Oh, and how does it deal with the larger screen? Does it look good or does it simply make ever pixel bigger (which would be ugly).

I'd be interested in a few GBA games if the GB player is cheap. Actually I think I'd like to get a GBA eventually...

It comes out really clear. It does look a bit pixelated, but it's the same if you hold up your face at the GBA screen and look closely. Sound is excellent, and the shape can be the GBA's original widescreen or modified (doesn't matter for me, my TV's rectangular anyway). If you have problems with the controllers stick or small D-pad, you can attach a regular GBA via link cable and use that as a controller.

I attached (don't know how to use uploads) sample screenshot of a GBA game on the GCN with a digital camera that I took a while ago (not the best example but it's better than nothing)

Oh, and waht is this "mystery product" is it a game or waht?

I don't know. Nintendo will unveil it at E3. It's not a successor to either the GCN or the GBA. Iwata (Nintendo President) said something about that " current systems have basically reached their limits, implying that making a new game system similar to the ones currently available isn't something that should be done."

"Reached their limits"

Could it be some upgrade thing like that expansion you could install in your N64?

It's not a sucessor to either the GCN or the GBA.
It's not the Ique, which is for the Chinese market. It's a controller that pretty much plays N64 games.
And it doesn't have anything to do with NES games either, as the news that carbon-copies of NES games are making their way to the GBA for like $20 or something in Japan.
So there's no current theories available, and we'll just have to wait for E3...

Can't get into it? Does that mean it doesn't immerse you, or that you don't like the plot? How far did you go till you stopped? I strongly recommend playing it more until you get to the Chozo Ruins and doing some of those puzzles.

You found something wrong with F-Zero GX? That's amazing. I haven't been able to after playing for 5 months.

As for the Mystery Product, I guess some random accessory, like the Eye Toy or something, but it will be too innovative to guess right now. When is E3, by the way?

Well, from what I can see, there's no plot to speak of in Prime, mostly because I'm scared of long text (my TV is 17inches widescreen, so when long paragraphs of stuff comes out, I don't read it, similar case in Soul Callibur 2). But Prime is just a perfect game. I cannot find anything wrong with it, although I can find plenty of things wrong in Wind Waker, Mario Kart, OoT, Fire Emblem, pretty much every game I've played. But I just can't get into it. Even I'm confused at this point.
I was at the Varia Suit boss before I stopped, so I was not far at all. Sometimes I think of playing it, but just can't, and just distract myself with my other games.

I don't have it, but I borrowed it from a friend for a few days. When I borrowed it, I was expecting a good multiplayer with some of my other friends. Turns out that the multiplayer sucks.
I do love the tracks though, the jumps, turns, everything, those are nice. And I do understand that the single player is great, but it just didn't appeal to me, whether it was the difficulty or my lack of interest in the story (it's like when you think you're reading a book but really aren't, that's how I felt during the story mode).
I see it's a great game as well, but maybe I'm just not built for real racers. Probably same reason why I found something wrong with Soul Calibur 2, maybe I'm just not built for real fighters. I guess I'll stick with SSBM and Mario Kart then.

It's in May I believe, it's not for a while.

EDIT: I think I found the reason why I dislike F-zero and Soul Calibur 2: The Music. F-Zero's music sucks (I hate techno) and Soul Calibur's, while great when listened alone, did not match the gameplay at all. Maybe this is why I can't get into Prime, the music didn't push me to play more...

There's no fun in only racing four people when the tracks are built for 30. The multiplayer's not bad, but it just sucks compared to Mario Kart.

For me, I only race against my friend, and we are extrmely close together in skill level, so the races are usually really intense and a mistake could cost you the race. But if you played agaisnt all beginners, then I don't see the point, you haven't learned how to actually play the game. When you are good enough to beat Master mode, competition becomes the challenge and fun within the game. By then all you've got left is story mode and staff ghosts. If you don't like F-Zero's singleplayer, don't buy it, because it is the meat of the game. Multiplayer is a bonus, IMO, and a very good one.

Varia Suit boss? Flaahgra, I believe? That was a fun boss. i can't believe that didn't get you into the game. To each his own, I guess. And there is a plot, just to let you know. I won't spoil it here.

As for music, that's your beef. I usually play with my own music, unless sound is important to the game(like in Prime).

I don't like real fighters either, but Ilove racing games.

I think the problem with F-zero for me is that it feels like all competition, but it's not much fun. If I did by some miracle beat master mode then yes, I would love the game, but that will never happen.

When I was fighting the boss it felt too much like I had to beat him, and I had to keep going in the game. As a result, Prime stopped feeling so much fun as it did work. And I know there is a plot, just as much there is a plot in Soul Calibur 2, but large amounts of text all at once with no visual aid scares me in video games.

I love video game music, it makes the experience for me. I frequently visit www.vgmusic.com, own the SSBM soundtrack as well as the FFTA soundtrack (and listen to them frequently), found Zelda sheet music and play it, and a lot of other stuff. Heck, I'm listening to game music right now. :crazyeye:

I've started playing Wind Waker. Very good game; better than Metroid Prime. My current wish list (in order of most wanted to least wanted):

Sonic Heroes
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Pikmin
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Viewtiful Joe
F-Zero GX
one of the Resident Evil games
Mario Sunshine
Luigi's Mansion (and/or Wario World)
*probably forgot some stuff*

I'll probably get Sonic Heroes fairly soon. Any other suggestions?

Dude, Sonic Heroes sucks. At least from what I hear.
I don't personally know anyone who has it yet, but from what I hear via the Internet it's an above average game, and considering I'm a Sonic fanboy I'm going to buy it no matter what anyone says. :p

Buy Double Dash and rent Pikmin.
I never liked the idea of renting games. Pikmin is only about $15 on eBay, and I consider that worth it, to be able to play the game whenever I feel like it. The only reason I'd rent a game is if it's a few hours long, which Pikmin isn't, is it?

I heard Sonic Heroes is better than the Sonic Adventures, but that's really not saying much. Sonic should stay 2-D.

Get Mario Kart and SSBM, wait for Resident Evil 4, FF:C&C, Pikimin 2 and others I can't remember at the moment.

Super Monkey Ball 3! Though it hasn't been released in even Japan yet looks to be out this quarter there and hopefully fairly soon after making the trip here. Not many details about it yet but supposed to have lan capable multiplayer for upto 8 players! Also if you don't have the first 2 Super Monkey Balls get those.

Cool, that means it can be played on WarpPipe.

If Nintendo isn't going to make online play, they need to throw us a bone and make every game LAN capable.
