Strider! Hope you're feeling well. Somehow this got shifted over to 1.22. I didn't think it was possible either, but the game is in 1.22. If you'd like to take the game, feel free. We have a real mess on our hands.

    Gengis and Gorm are MIA.

Well, if we were playing 1.15 and the save is now 1.22 and it's suppose to be impossible to do that, I'd have to say we have some really bad problems.

    Pre-Turn:
Spent awhile looking over the save to see out current situtation and catch up.

    Turn 1:
We lose New Alesund to the Portuguese
We lose Stockholm to the Portuguese
Egypt declares war on the dutch
We capture Middleburg from the Dutch

    Turn 2:
We lose New Fauske to the Portuguese

Why are the majority of our cities poorly defended? The portuguese keep landing troops near cities that have no defenders or very weak ones and there is nothing I can do to defend them.

    Turn 3:
We lose New Hammerfest to the Portuguese
We lost Madras to the Portuguese
We captured Luanda from the Portuguese

    Turn 4:
We lose Begal to the Portuguese
We lose Karachi to the Portuguese
We lose New Harold to the Portuguese
We capture Faro from the Portuguese

    Turn 5:
We lose Fausk to the Dutch
We lose New Honnigsvan to the Portuguese

    Turn 6:
We capture Bengal from the Portuguese
We capture Chittchong from the Portuguese

    Turn 7:
We capture New Hammerfest from the Portuguese

    Turn 8:
We lose Harleem to the Dutch
We capture New Herield from the Portuguese

    Turn 9:
We capture Karachi from the Portuguese
We now control 67% of the Worlds Population!!!

That is it for me, we currently have 58% of the Worlds Terrority (a 4% decrease sense I got the save) and 67% of the worlds population (a 6% increase sense I got the save). Capture some more cities and we can win this. I would also recommend making peace with the Dutch and just going after Portugal.

1860 AD – Preflight – We’re in a MPP with Cleo. We’re at war with the Dutch and the Portuguese. We have 7 turns left on the MPP.

We have some pillaging to do.

IBT – Holwerd flips to the Dutch.

    1862 AD – Maneuver a lot.
    1864 AD – Raze Haarlem.
1866 AD – Recapture New Honningvag. Found Trondheim 2.
1868 AD – Capture Braga. Karachi and New Honningvag are threatened again.

IBT – We lose Karachi and New Stockholm flips to the Egyptians.

1870 AD – Found Bergen 2 on the ruins of Haarlem.
    1872 AD – Found Copenhagen 2.
1874 AD – Recapture Karachi. Raze Holwerd. Found Reykjavik 2 I cancel the MPP with Cleo. I get a peace treaty with the Dutch and get Harlingen and Hierconpolis.
    1876 AD – Maneuvering.
1878 AD – Fail to take two Portuguese cities.

IBT – Bengal is captured by the Portuguese.

    1880 AD – Found Oslo 2.

We’re at 61% land 71% pop. We probably should pay Henry 260G for a peace treaty and regroup. If we don’t, we’ll lose another city. Probably set up to go at Egypt in about 10-20 turns. There is a pile of rocks where Bengal used to be. There is a settler to claim it within about three turns of the site.

I would like to join this, thanks. I can't play immediately...the next couple of days are going to be a bit busy. The power just came back one (hope it holds) and the neighborhood's a mess. One neighbor's car got flattened by an oak tree, but everything else just looks messy (my screened-in porch is no longer screened-in...). Gimme a couple of days and I'd love to join in.

Gained ten tiles in ten turns with 95 tiles left to go. Five towns are due to expand in 2, so if if we average five tiles per town that will give 85 left in two.

If we can somehow maintain this average tile take by culture expansion war may not be necessary, but that is really up to the other nations at this point.

I havae been moving ground troops to the Egyptian mainland at Calcutta and to Harlingen ona nisland we share with Cleopatra and gathering berzerks at Kohlapur, an island town off the coast of Egypt.

Signed a peace deal with Henry a the opening for 260g.

Egypt and the Dutch signed a peace treaty in 1890.

Netherlands and Portugal signed an MPP in 1890.

Missed the estimated territory growth by two tiles. At 1894 we stand at 87 remaining.

And the Dutch re-declare on Egypt as Henry takes advantage of the MPP.

Egypt finished Universal Suffrage in 1890.

In 1894 Portugese take Alexandria opening a cultural salient into Egpyt at Calcutta. Rush a settler at Calcutta to take advantage of it.

In 1898 call up the belligerents and sell whatever supluses we have for both gpt and cash. If we can keep the peace for 20 turns we should accumulate what we need to win.

By 1900 we have picked up another 15 tiles and have 72 to go for domination.

Looks like the militaristic solution has gone pacifist.....

Just the thing for our builder....just wait for the Dutch or Portugese to take an Egyptian city then poach the tiles and buld a temple.

These were pretty quiet turns, mostly spent watch the Portuguese, Egyptians and Dutch beat on each other. Here are the only notes I took:

Pre-flight – 1900 AD – Pillage around Desertholme and Hillholme. Hurry a temple for 160G.

IBT – Cleo wants us to go to war against the Dutch. What do you think this is? The League of Ordinary Gentlemen?

1908 – Build Birka 2 poaching some tiles. 54 tiles to dom.

    1914 – Found Aarhus 2 – more poaching.

    1916 – Found Stavanger 2 – ditto. Down to 42 tiles left.

    1918 - Found Odense 2 – 36 tiles to go.

We’re now at 29 tiles to domination. We should be able to get below 20 in the next couple of turns, but that may be it.

Here are a few initiatives I started or continued:

    Marsh settler:

There are two slaves there already, a few more in boats on the way. That will get us 9 tiles.

    Egypt:

Bede already started down this path. I just followed along. Pi-Ramesses has been getting hammered and should fall soon. There will be opportunities around the red circled areas. Also, you can get three tiles by settling the red X

    Here’s another Egypt Poaching initiative:

Obviously there are some nasty improved tiles here that need to be pillaged. As soon as you get some cash, the temple at Odense 2 needs to be rushed. That will snag two more tiles from Fauske. A city at Red circle will grab a few more.

If it comes down to it, there are eight turns left on deals with Cleo. When they run out we can snag two or three cities with Zerks, and push our selves over the top.

    Twenty-nine bottles of beer later....

    :viking: :viking:   :crazyeye:

    0-1920
Egypt and Dutch sign a Peace Treaty.

    1922-1924
Sailing boats around, picking up various units. Sink a privateer, but lose a galleon full of workers to another. Sell some lux to the Portugese for cash to rush temples.

    In 1924 found Haried2

Netherlands goes back to war with Egypt.

    1926
Found Bede's Folly which culturally links to New Keflavik and we gain 10 tiles.

    1928
Some more cultural expansion and we get another 10 only 9 to go, one more town somewhere.

    1930
Found Victory on the swamp island. Disband workers and galleons and cash rush temple just to make sure.
