"The Internet" project not working

In my latest Prince game as Huayna Capac, I am having trouble with the internet. I have completed the project and yet I did not get any tech. I should have been given Mass Media, Fission and Flight, but for some reason I wasn't. Is this a bug or what? What is going on?

I am attaching 2 screenshots and the latest savegame file, although it is many turns after completing "The Internet".

NOTE - Latest BUG Mod used.

I just suffered my first ever loss below Monarch

Mansa Musa won a cultural victory!!!

WTH!!! How was I supposed to know he was so close to a cultural victory. I would have murdered him with my modern armor and missile cruisers. I still can't believe it

You should have seen a message when his first two cities reached Legendary culture, or you could have looked at the victory conditions screen. It's easy to spot pretty early on if you're paying attention.

I think two civs need to know the relevant tech for you to gain it.

You get any tech that TWO civ have. Only one civ has each of flight, mass media and fission, right ?

No, as you can see from the screenshot attached, Mansa Musa has mass media whereas Pacal II has fission and flight. I got NOTHING

BTW, I should qualify my "first loss" claim - I always abandoned before I lost if Shaka or Genghis come calling with SoDs

Same. I don't think many of us here bother finishing games we know we're going to lose. The only loss in my hall of fame was back in warlords, when you didn't have to launch your spaceship and wait to win a space race victory. My last piece was a turn away from finishing, so I hit Enter expecting to see the victory message, and instead at the bottom it said, "Asoka has won a Space Race victory!"

BTW, I have one more question regarding the internet - does it only give you the techs at the time when you build it or will it also give you techs later on?

^You mean you've had games where Toku wasn't ridiculously backward? Because I don't think I have. He hates everyone and doesn't trade, and his traits don't help with his economy either.

It gives techs later on as well.

That explains it! I got a tech right away when the Internets were invented which I expected... then later I got a tech and had no clue why. Figured it was from my scientists using the Google or going on wiki.

the internet is good at preventing the AI form gaining bonus techs it didn't research but the best way is just to raid for it.

on my current game i plan built a up some infrantry and invade portugal as for some odd reason Joa II research all the way to medicine, otoh hand i am at least 2 steps ahead in military tech

Have a hunt about and you should be able to find a game here where somebody only researched the techs needed for the internet, built it and got a whole heap in one turn. He'd uploaded the save and it's quite funny to watch.
