The Khazad need a calculator

I really like the concept of the Khazad vault, but what annoys me is that I always have to calculate the gold/city ratio. While it's true that I'm not particularly good at math, I gather it must be taxing for ppl to have to mentally figure out what's gonna happen every time I gain a new city. Either that or I need to play with a calculator on hand.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a special gold per city display for the Khazad or something?

As long as you are always gaining money, never give up gold in a trade, and don't build/capture a new city unless your vault is at least at "Full" (I personally wait till Abundant), you shouldn't have to worry too much.

If your aim is to always keep it overflowing, I think that was at a nice easy number, like 500? So just wait till you have enough to keep it at max level when you get the new city (so 3 cities from 1500-2000, after 2000 settle/steal a new city)

Great Merchants really help the kazhad out with their money if they have money issues - and the +1 food is a godsend!

Slight highjack, but why does the vault requirements not change with game speed? I would have thought it would scale at the same rate as tech research.

all you need to know is that you need at least 100 gold per city. Anything more is better, anything less is bad. Quite simple :D

I understand his pb...
it is always boring to have to count your number of cities..; do I have 12 or 13 ??? I have 4000 gold, should I raze the next city or not ???

I stopped playing for 3-4 days... Ican't remember the number of cities.
etc..

but with F1, you still have to count.. or is there a number given somewhere... that I never saw?

('coz I never looked for it/never needed it yet)

Just press F1 and take a screen shot. Post it in this thread and i'm sure somebody will want to count it. Hey, we're all friends over here and thats what friends do for eachother.

Duh...I should've thought of that myself :crazyeye: Wouldn't have been too difficult to make that table myself since I use excel all the time. Thanks!

My problem is more a matter of convenience though, ideally I'd like to have an in-game display to indicate the actual amount of gold in the vaults. Perhaps in the city screen, or the F1 screen. Anything so I don't have to count cities or look at an external table. But I guess for now printing the spreadsheet will do...

counting is boring when you have more than 12-15 cities... and much more when you have more than 20 .. you always make mistake..
and civ is not supposed to be about counting...

Nice to have a prompt for Khazad on the main screen with mana bar like
"Vaults:abundant
needs XXX gold for the next level,
enough to have Y more cities with the same level".

Who will write a modmod? :)

Then you lose #8 and #15 and get in trouble

Put a sign somewhere (over your capital or sth) with Alt-S and update it whenever you gain or lose a city. Then you just have to be able to multiply an integer by 100, 150, 200, 300 and 500.
