After shutting down Apple's corporate charity programs, I assume?

Also, not letting this question get buried.
Anybody know what specific locales (if any, since real-life locations might not lend themselves to game balance easily) in Paris does the Battlefield 3 beta map Operation Metro occur?

I installed Adblock Plus a few years ago because flashing banner ads would sometimes trigger a bad migraine. Just a question: Has there ever been a case of someone with photosensitive epilepsy having a seizure on account of those ads?

Also, why aren't those things banned?

I would imagine so, yes. Almost all things on a computer screen or other digital screen can, hypothetically, cause one (depending on how severe the condition is), IIRC.

A lot of my games have warnings that they can cause seizures.

Has there ever been a benevolent dictator, as in one who actually tried to do good for the country?

I'd say Darius the Great, Cyrus the Great (both from Persia), Nikita Khruschev, Mikhail Gorbachev (from the USSR) and Getúlio Vargas (from Brazil) from the top of my head.

Plenty have tried to do good for their country. Many have used plenty of "bad" actions in the pursuit of what they thought was the good of their country.

I think a more pertinent and difficult question would be which benevolent dictators actually did do good for their country.

Anyway, anybody here have experience with lower leg fracture casts? How should I position it when doing everyday stuff, including sleeping? How long would I be out of commission, on average? Can I still take normal baths or am I relegated to sponge baths until I recover? Any other advice?

Make a scratcher from a wire hanger to get to those itches.

I think you need to find your own comfort positions. For washing, you can seal it in a plastic bag and seal the top with tape, elastic, or something. That won't allow you to submerge it in water. But it might allow a careful shower.

I haven't had a broken leg but I have had a sprained ankle, so here's my suggestions:

1. When you're sitting on the computer or something, put a soft pillow on something and prop it up on that. Keep it more elevated than it usually is.
2. In bed, I found it helped to prop several pillows under the leg.
3. With a sprained ankle, I was barely even able to get in the tub. So I can't answer you on this one.
4. It may be a good idea to keep a bucket nearby in case you need to pee in the middle of the night. This was learned the hard way.

I found memory-foam pillows tend to work best for propping purposes.

Here's hoping I never need to heed this advice.

That's very good advice. Thanks! :)

Although I'm not sure I can't seal it that well. :(

Don't you want circulation to be easier though, so it can heal faster? Also, we don't have that many extra chairs for that. :(

It's a bit hard, but I think I can manage. I won't be able to stand up for the shower, that's for sure. Getting out might be a very daunting task though.

Thankfully, this I won't need to worry about. I don't think I'll be drinking too much while this is healing. :)

If you're willing to tape your leg above the plastic and onto it, then you should be able to get a pretty good water block.

Well with the sprained ankle my main problem was the swelling. It might be different for a broken bone.

Oh right. Sigh, I wish it was a sprain.

Well I read that a lot of times sprained ankles hurt worse than a broken ankle.

When you get the cast off make sure that your range of motion is ok. I broke my left arm when I was 7 and now I'm unable to extend my arm to a full 180 because of the way the cast was. And in my left ankle the sprained part healed short so it's not as flexible as it was.

It hurts more, but at least I'll be able to get back to work faster.

I should be thankful this isn't too problematic with an ankle cast.

Perhaps for the shower you could sit at the edge of the tub. Might be a little awkward though. Maybe a plastic chair in the tub.
