The math for City Growth bonus seems broken and mislabeled

If you get a bonus that reads +50% Growth Rate, you'd expect that your growth rate would increase to 1.5x of its default, right?
Well, it actually doubles your growth rate - because it's applied as a 50% reduction of how much growth points you need to grow.

Not only does this lead to a problem of a mechanic being non-intuitive / mislabeled, it also couples really bad with the fact that it stacks additively. So you can hit "+100% Growth Rate", which actually means -100% growth points required, which means 0 growth points required, which makes Food irrelevant - you'll always grow 1 pop per turn.

And if you go past +100% Growth Rate, that actually means your food needs per turn are negative, and it bugs out and you become unable to grow.

I've come to expect bad math formulas from Amplitude Studio, but seeing a painfully amateur mistake like that from Fireaxis is a disappointing.

This could be bad, it might also apply to +Production % for units and Wonders etc.

There's a lot of % modifiers that I still haven't figured out exactly what they mean. My brain has begun to translate all of them as "It's vaguely cheaper. Don't ask!"

This is pretty much how programming works

"It works, don't touch it!"
