The Most Annoying AI to play with

1.Shaka - (military) if he's close to yours borders like Innland sea.He comes with large stacks.
2.Khemehr(military/most stupid civ) - he looks like a clown and the stupid balistic elephants he's so anoying and meaningsles civ ever decleares war at the blink of an eye.
3.Mansa musa - he's gold ruins your science plan same thing with Happac
4.Dutch - not any specific reason
5.Joa - usually expand quickly that anoys me same thing with suilemann
5.khan(military) - will not stop even if you beat him.You allways know he will attack you if he's rigth next door.

I think all the civs are anoying if they are ahead of your research, steal wonders just 1 - 3 turns before comp, builds cities just outsides yours. etc.

Catherine, easily: The others can be annoying but are all fairly easy to deal with. Cathy techs well if left to expand while maintaining enormous SoDs, and she'll backstab at 'Friendly' given any excuse.

Hell, each of them can be annoying in some or the other way, but my top 5 definitely are

1. Shaka, esp.when close to me
2. Catherine (how come I always lose my patience with her)
3. Suryavarman (simply can't stand him, it's almost irrational)
4. Zara Yaqob / Joao (spawn cities like mad)
5. Bull (for his insolence)

In my games I make a point of erradicating those asap, and when i finally do, things are always going more or less well.

The honourable mention goes to Huayna Capac who, if not nagged by any aggressive civ early on, turns into a monster in a late game.

1.) Sitting Bull. Grabs lots of land, is a pain to attack, useless ally, uselss trade partner, too fond of poisoning my water).

2.) Suryavarman. Competent imperialist, military threat but not a good lapdog.

I find most others have their uses.

1.) Joao - worst type of AI which for me is a land grabber
2.) Survy - same as above
3.) Zara - same as above
4.) Mansa - keeps demanding stuff and most of the time negotiating rip-off trades

Aggressive AI are typically only annoying if you start right next to one.

Agree with most of the others, but thought I would add Hannibal, when he's on a far-away coast and you can't get to him early. Esp. in a game also with Ragnar - two Financial guys who tend to be buddies.

The early stages of the game can be pretty predictable if you are next to the following civs:
Montezuma or Tokugawa - attack them before they attack you.
Zara or Joao - grab the land while its not green.
Isabella - get open borders QUICK so she can spread Buddhism to you.
Julius Caesar - make damn sure he doesn't get iron.

Isabella is easy to take out if you start near her, just build 5 warriors and take Madrid. She will spend the first 40 turns making fishing boats and teching religion instead of archery.

I hate going up against Zara. He REXes like CRAZY even on Warlord level and is usually a tech leader in my games.

I like playing AS Izzy. Although I think her UB is less than useful (Usually I am on a peaceful streak during it's valid period), her starting techs/spiritual trait have allowed me to grab 3 religions and surge ahead in the tech race by combining a Shrine and Specialist income. Massive research and a heap of gold in the coffers to keep science slider high (60% for a Specialist economy!) while still making 10 gold per turn. Since I'll have 3 or so cities that have luxury resources (gems etc), I'll cottage spam those and they add a good deal to the research as well as gold input.

Lovely. :)

I also hate playing against Hyuana. He seems to have huge populations, lots of cities, large armies, and still keep up in tech via diplomacy/trading.

Tokugawa is a gigantic pain, although I don't remember ever coming close to losing to him. It's that nasty combination of uncooperative and protective defenders that usually makes Japan just a big no-fly zone for most of my games.

I find Zara and Mansa my least favorite civs to find (out of reach) as I explore the world. Both will trade with me, but both can also tend to really get in the way of my victory plans.

Alexander is a pisser, since he seems to really insist on going down with the ship instead of just folding up and capitulating like he should. Not only that, but it is usually him who starts the damn conflict for no stinkin' reason.

Stalin is no joy when he is in the vicinity early. It takes a lot of effort to dislodge him.

ALL of the French leaders are annoying, each in his own way. At least the Musketeer isn't that bad in the hands of the AI in the way that Zara's and Stalin's UUs are.

Pacal, if only for the annoying horn blowing of the Mayan civ.

Btw forgot to include Huayna, this dude tends to spam so much wonder and always has the tech lead in most games so its best to take him out.

I can never seem to get along with Pacal, every single game he is in we either got different religions, or he is at the wrong end of my sword, and him constantly making threats and demands doesn't make it easier...

Mansa Musa is a pain indeed if I don't start near him. I made the horrible mistake of vassalizing him once (yeah, I know :( ), and he kept teching and wonder-grabbing like the world would end tomorrow. Which it did, since I attacked our fellow neighbour, posted enough guards in my cities so the enemy would turn on his under-defended cities.

I agree on Isabella, Sitting Bull, Joao and the rest, ugh. Either contain them early or start your future empire with a broken arm and a limp.

Mansa Musa has ruined many games for me that looked like they were gonna be fun. When he's not next to me so I can't take care of him asap, he will tech like a maniac and everyone else ends up benefiting from that except me. So I end up lagging behind despite doing pretty well for myself. And then I quit the game.

Sitting Bull is another one with his archers. If he has a bunch of cities on hills you're gonna have a hell of a time getting em. My solution for him is to get CR macemen as quick as you can so you can get the macemen vs archer advantage to its fullest.

Joao can be really bad with his expansion and demands too. Speaking of him, my most recent game he built the great wall early and went into a full spy/espionage economy or something. Never seen him or any other AI do that! He was popping great spies all the time and sabotaging my **** to hell. And later on I took a bunch of his cities, found 3 or 4 Scotland Yards so far and a couple settled spies. It was really annoying, but now I have all these Scotland Yard cities, should help me going into possible space race!

Louis XIV likes to spam spies. Eliminate him immediatly or some of your towns will blow up. How do I know? shared a continent with him and got bombarded with his scroungy spies:mad:

Gilgamesh. If he's anywhere close to me (and he normally is for some reason) he goes as soon as possible. Vultures are a nuisance.

Agree with most of the others, but thought I would add Hannibal, when he's on a far-away coast and you can't get to him early. Esp. in a game also with Ragnar - two Financial guys who tend to be buddies.

I consider him the most worthy competitor, capable of both teching and dominating . Challenging , yes, but not annoying.

Cathy is the most untrustworthy.

Tokugawa is way annoying with his isolationist policies, but I can learn to live with him.

Mansa isn't nearly so bad with no tech brokering.

But that SOB Sitting Bullseye started across the strait from me in my current game. It took two wars to vassilize him, and Chahokia is now a star city. I decided to gift him my wooden navy. Of course he uses the privateers to attack my shores. I know they were mine because of the names they had.
So I blew them out of the water.

On the bright side, he is actually participating in a war on his continent, neutralizing some enemy offensive formations , and using the remains of thewooden navy to attack the enemy coast. It's a first for me.
