Perhaps you could do a modern States NES based off of our current political situation? It would allow the players to do backdoor diplomacy with other states and even secede if they want to which would for the most part lead to civil war. Basically it gives players more options than to choose party and try to make their states the economic envy of other states.

I do have a question about your Bonaparte NES though, just out of curiosity, how was the Mormon issue resolved? I do not see the Mormons accepting a Socialist state as it goes against their beliefs of public Religious freedom. I would suggest maybe either a rebellious west or an entirely separate entity formed out of the Rocky Mountains with the backing of the Democratic Confederate States aiming to weaken the US even more.

These are just suggestions, and I would play the original as well if you choose to keep it as it is.

Idea: A post apocalyptic NES!
Other than that, supporting Bonaparte Legacy since I am feeling bloodthirsty right now and that map is just begging for chaos and destruction (and backdoor diplomacy, and backstabbing and more chaos and destruction)

I understand that America had a socialist revolution, and thus Federal Blue might not be the exact best color, but that orange burns my eyes. Please pick another color.

I’ve changed it to a light pink which should be a bit easier on the eyes.

I'm intrigued by Portugal. Care to explain what happened there to split it in half?

Civil war. Portugal is TTL's Spain; the trigger was that striking workers in Porto were massacred by the (nationalist) government. The socialists are the brownish color in the south, the nationalists are the light green in the north and the colonies.

It wouldn't be a bad idea; however, the reasons I'm not doing it in modern times are; 1. I don't want the United States to be an unstoppable juggernaut, 2. it's easier to manage 14-17 states than it is 50, and 3. I aim for westward expansion to be a focus of the States NES.

The USSA isn’t as authoritarian as the USSR, and it does (at least on paper) still maintain First Amendment rights, so religious freedom still does exist. I could still see the Mormons (and Utah as a whole) being rather unwilling to cooperate with the socialist government, so if TBL wins I’ll likely end up going with Utah being a somewhat unstable area threatening to revolt.

I actually had several ideas for a post-apocalyptic NES, but none of them ever got off the ground. Another time maybe.

That's essentially the near future SAR NES.
